Toothache

My story of when I had to go to the vet.

I remember it well. One day I was minding my own business, chewing on the wire. I heard a noise, and not knowing what it was, I jumped back from the cage. In the process, I bumped my two front teeth.

Oh my, it hurt so bad! I squeaked to get my human's attention. She must've noticed something, and soon was calling the vet. Sometime later they put me in the little travel box, and I was off to see the vet.

I've never been to the vet before, so I was afraid what was going to happen. Eventually I was let out of the container by my human. That's when I got a good look around my new surroundings. Then a lady walked in, it must be the vet!

She tried to pick me up and look in my mouth. No way was I going to let some stranger do that. I ran up my human's arm to her shoulder, and tried to hide behind human's hair. But it didn't work, the vet still tried to get me. But I held my ground.

Eventually they put me back in the travel box. I thought I had succeded, but NO! The vet brought me to a room in back. They put this thing with funny smelling air over my nose. It made me sleepy.

I don't know how long it was, but I woke up back with my human. I have no idea what happened, just that I felt very dizzy and my teeth still hurt. Once home I tried to eat, but my two front teeth just made it painful. And they felt loose, almost like they were going to fall out.

And the next day, they did fall out! My mouth didn't hurt no more, but I was starving. I couldn't bite my food with no front teeth. But that's when I got an idea.

I remember one time while digging I shoved my yum yum dish under the water getting device. The water driped all over a lab block. It got all soft, soft enought so I didn't have to chew it. So I thought, why not try that.

I picked up a lab block from the dish, and licked it until it got all wet. And it softened so I could eat. Oh, that food tasted so good! My human seemed to notice my idea, and got an idea too.

Boy, I liked my human's idea. She crushed the lab blocks into a powder that I could lick right up. And even broke up some seeds small enough for me to not need to chew them first. The human's did this for a couple weeks until my teeth grew back.

And so the story ends happily ever after!
