The Barb back in the day -- no way she can do this now!
Barbara Mah has been part of the Jazz Moves family since 1983. This dancer/ actor/ choreographer/ singer/ playwright is a long time participant in the Arts scene.
Barbara has taught jazz, musical theatre and tap classes and workshops for a number of places including, Edmonton School of Ballet, Kompany! Training Program, Beaumont School of Ballet, Just For Fun Theatre School (Leduc), Keyano College, University of Alberta Orchesis Dance Club and, of course, Jazz Moves.
In addition to teaching, Barbara has also choreographed extensively. Some credits include dance numbers in: Crazy for You (Keyano and Red Deer College Productions), Orchesis Dance Motif (U of A), Taming of the Shrew, Rocky Horror Show, The Boyfriend, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine (all for Walterdale), The River Princess and the Frozen Town (Citadel Theatre), The Wiz, And the World Goes Round, Oklahoma (all for ELOPE).
When not dancing, Barbara can be found singing and acting in various community theatre productions around Edmonton. Detailed highlights can be found on her website www.geocities.com/thebarbmah. You might also catch her in the odd tv commercial or in a training film.
During the day Barbara works as an arts development consultant for Alberta Community Development/Alberta Foundation for the Arts. She's also a card carrying trekkie.
