| Wow, I there's not too much room on these pages. Here's my next poem which is kinda long. It's called a Corona Di Sonetti, which means "crown of sonnets." It's seven sonnets connected together with the last line of the poem also being the first and I did it for an English project. |
| The Essence of Dance -To dance is to live, the movement divine Exciting and fun, it�s never a bore The wonder of music, stepping in time I dream that I can dance for evermore There are many types that a person can choose From ballet to jazz, traversing the earth, Which ever you pick, you can never loose Anyone can dance from their day of birth To dance, your body must love to whirl -Most types of dance have steps that include twirls. Ballet for example is one of these Beauty is seeing many bodies swirl. However the steps, are not done with ease Agility is very essential To move on the stage with other persons A ballet dancer is one who�s special For the shoes they wear are rather irksome To have pain is a dancer�s decision -But also with grace, dance needs precision Being exact with movements of sureness Careful to avoid any collisions Jazz; a dance where you have to have pureness Your own style is combined with the set steps It is fast paced having no time to rest And your moves must mean something, have some depth. You must be good, but don�t have to be best. Always will someone be better than you. -To dance, with yourself, your have to be true A solo is one of the hardest things To make up your own steps not many do Imagine yourself, equipped with two wings It�s easier then, to complete the task The choreography flows more freely To dance alone, one needs not wear a mask On stage by oneself, the choice is To Be Emotions run wild, so simple to read -Far-reaching thinking is never a need For most of the time it�s others you�ll mind Hurrying to do what they say with speed But fortunately most dancers are kind Learn to work together, and friends you�ll make Cooperation; the word of the day The friendships you form will never be fake Allies you�ll be in an odd sort of way You�ll stick together through thick and through thin -No matter what happens, you always will win Although with dance, it�s pretty hard too loose Tap is a style from which you should begin It�s one of my favorites from those to choose The metal pieces that fit one the shoe Are but one of the items that stand out Problems can arise with loosing a screw But most of the time, I would love to shout Out from the rooftops, �Tap is wonderful!� -Of ALL the types, Tap is the most joyful Though it�s hard to pick from such a long list Since all of the forms, are most beautiful And some, even, are combined with a twist Dance is an art form that you have to love It should be part of your very essence To use your body to float like a dove For no other fine art is like the dance Dance is a pastime, a favorite of mine, To dance is to live, the movement divine |
