LAP CHAPTER 9: ALGEBRA 2

In this chapter the student will learn the following concepts related to rational functions:

1. graphing rational functions with discontinuities

            2. to multiply, divide, add and subtract rational functions

            3. to solve rational function equations

2/22

Student will work individually on a worksheet previewing  the discontinuities of rational functions.  HOMEWORK: Worksheet

2/23

Student will define rational functions and discontinuities such as asymptotes and holes, and then he will use his definitions to draw COMPLETE graphs of rational functions.

2/24

Student will continue looking at rational functions.  HOMEWORK: Worksheet

2/25

Student will do test corrections in class, and then he will complete a worksheet in preparation for Monday’s quiz.  HOMEWORK: Worksheet

2/28

Student will take a quiz over previously learned material.  HOMEWORK: Worksheet

3/1

Student will review factoring polynomials and the power properties, and then he will learn to multiply and divide rational functions—learning to change division into multiplication and to simplify after factoring.  HOMEWORK:    p. 566#27—29, 33—35, 39, 40 all

3/2

Student will learn to find the LCM of monomials and polynomials, and then he  HOMEWORK: Worksheet
