I am the Director of Press and Community Relations for Black and White Men Together of Southern California (BWMTSC).BWMTSC is a multi-racial organization providing a supportive environment for gay men to celebrate diversity, racial and cultural differences and fight intolerance. The local organization is a chapter of the NABWMT, a nationwide network of affiliated chapters in over 30 cities. BWMTSC has over 75 multi-racial gay members.
Black and White Men Together, Southern California (BWMTSC) is proud to host the 2006 National Association of Black and White Men Together Convention, �Riding the Waves of Diversity�, July 31-August 5, 2006 at the Coast Hotel in Long Beach. The convention will bring hundreds of members and guests from around the country to our city and will include discussion workshops, social events, film screenings, and the convention�s most popular event, the Talent/No Talent Show, scheduled to be held at Choices (formerly Hamburger Mary's)in Long Beach. Phill Wilson, founder and Executive Director of the Black AIDS Institute and former AIDS Coordinator for the City of Los Angeles and Director of Policy and Planning at APLA is among several guest speakers.
I know you are proud that Long Beach was selected to host the convention and I am sure you will not miss the opportunity to be a part of this very special event. We need your support in hosting the hundreds of members convening in Long Beach, who will surely visit our many gay-owned and gay friendly establishments for their personal, social, dining and entertainment needs. Merchants Landing is a service designed by the host chapter, BWMTSC to bring convention attendees and local and regional gay and gay friendly companies and organization together by providing on-site visibility throughout the convention. For a nominal service charge of $50.00, organizations and companies may set up a small booth or banquet table in the convention area at the Coast Hotel. We are interested in vendors who address our central theme with items and services that foster or provide: Inter-racial or cross-cultural information or representation, anti-discriminatory (race and sexual orientation), Networking, Partnership and Collaboration. In addition, we are interested in the following services: Travel, HRC, Financial Planning, Photography, Bookstores and Authors, Gay or Gay friendly businesses, Government Agencies, Gay Organizations, and Mentoring and Advisory Services such as career counseling.
WHY PARTICIPATE IN MERCHANTS LANDING?
BWMTSC created this service to bring convention attendees to you and foster a relationship between the chapter and local organizations and companies. For a nominal $50.00 service charge you can participate for the length of the convention. You retain 100% of your sales. Vendor benefits include:
Announcements are made about your product and services at all sessions, Access to convention workshops, Discount advertising rates in the convention brochure and high visibility during the convention. Hundreds of attendees from California, the U.S. and Canada will have access to your products and services. Long after the convention ends, local,regional and statewide members will remember your participation in this event.We have also planned Incentives for attendees to visit booths and to provide Limited competition for general product type.
