Is "Different" Necessarily Bad?
Damien Echols claims that he was found guilty before the trial had even begun. He was considered weird and different by the community. He practiced the Wicca religion, which is often wrongly associated with Satanism, listened to so-called Satanic music groups such as Metallica, liked to dress in the color black, and read novels by Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, and Stephen King. Does this classify him as a murderer? If it does, then there are many other individuals in the United States, myself included, who should also be tried for crimes when no suspect is found. Yes, Damien had been in trouble before, but again, that does not mean that he committed the murder and mutilation of the three boys.

The Wiccan religion in no way contributes to Satanism. The religion itself is a non-violent religion. The Wiccan beliefs are centered around a main Goddess, instead of a god as in other main religions. Many of the Wiccan holidays, or Sabbats, involve worshipping the Earth. Harvests are very important the these people. There are no sacrifices done in the religion.

No Wiccan ceremonies require blood. There is no need to make sacrifices. The Pentagram is the symbol of Wicca. Is protects the people from evil, and does not promote it. Saying that Satanism is a part of Wicca is wrong.
