Mehndi :: By Jayshree Gosar

Mehndi is a traditional art form of applying Heena on the body, which is widely used temporary body decoration (More like temporary Tattoo). This decoration is mainly used during marriages and also during other traditional functions.

Mehndi is made from a shrub called 'Hawsonia Inermis' commonly known as Heena. This plant is commonly found in India. The leaves of this plant are dried & powdered then mixed with water then applied on the hands & feet. The portion when dried leaves a temporary Reddish color which is there on the body for a period of 10 to 15 days.
