| I just finished reading "Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Enemy Lines: Rebel Stand" by Aaron Allston. As with most books in the Star Wars series, I enjoyed it! It is a continuation of the war against the Yuuzhan Vong. My main negative on this: Let's end this Yuuzhan Vong war and move on to something else!!! Despite this, I still enjoyed it. Luke and Mara's hunt for the dark entity that Luke sensed at the end of "Rebel Dream", brings them face to face with an old and almost forgotten character from "Children of the Jedi". It culminates in Luke finally coming to a realization about his interpretation of light vs. dark. It has me looking forward to the next book! There are more exciting and very well described space battles that make you feel like you are in the action. Kyp, Jaina, Jagged, and company are involved in those, as expected. Wedge gets back in the cockpit too, and his experience alone is a must read!! Han and Leia get back in jail again, and once again it's up to Artoo to save the day. The solution to this puzzle was actually one of my favorite parts of the story. Leia finds herself in a position of having to backstab a friend for the sake of doing what's right. Maybe it's just me, but I felt that decision was just a little too easy. Maybe I'm being overly harsh there. Overall, I loved it and highly recommend it. It is a must for every True Star Wars fan. I am currently reading "Tear of the Gods" by Raymond Feist. A review of that book will be written after I finish it. I know it's been out for over a year, but this series is one where I wait for the paperback. Stay tuned. |
