Who are We?
Learn a bit about the lunatics who run this site...
Just in case you're wondering who the *&$%# would put so much time and energy into creating something like this, here's the part where we tell you who we are.
First up: Indigo. Prime Minister and Founder of the JayLa Conspiracy House, proud reader and writer of JC/Lance fanfiction (and other *Nslash pairings, when it occurs to me to do so). I'm sixteen years old, but please don't hold that against me...mwahah. Yes, I am an *Nsync fan. But unlike most of my fellow teenage fanatics, what really keeps me into them is the slash. I have a feeling I wouldn't be half as into *Nsync if there was no such thing as *Nslash. Of course, I buy the albums, I squeal like a giddy girl when I happen to see them on TV, I schedule my life around their appearances AND go looking for pictures to make *Nsync collages out of (I'm either very bored or very much of a loser). I'm a fan in every sense of the word. But honestly? Their music's pretty good, but it's the FICTION that does it for me. They're not even my favorite band when it comes to pure sounds. No, that spot belongs to the one, the only--U2. Tell me if there's anything better than Bono wailing the lyrics to "One" in that beautiful voice of his. Or the distinctive sound of The Edge's jangling guitar right before the bridge of "With or Without You." But anyway, I'm veering from the topic. I've been reading and writing slash since I was thirteen years old. It'll be four years in April. I started (along with my Deputy) with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul slash in 1998. This was around the time Episode I came out, so Star Wars was hot. We stumbled upon a site called The Sith Academy which, oddly enough, was just a fanfiction site to begin with. Then people started submitting stories with little inserts of Maul "accidentally" sleeping with Obi-Wan in a fit of drunken madness. These became so popular that they spun off a whole slew of Maul/Obi-Wan slash stories, which eventually took over the site. And THAT is how it all began.
The *Nslash came later. I was barely a fan of *Nsync when my sister "forced" me to read my very first, a JC/Lance called "Clandestine Desires." Now, I never expected to like (love!) it as much as I did. Little did I know, when I read the first few lines about Lance lusting after JC, how this one story would change my life for the better (cue: tear rolls down cheek). What did I do next? I looked for more, of course! Then my sister introduced me to Em's page, which, at the time, carried nothing but JayLa. I've been faithful to the pairing ever since.
Morgan. A fairly messed-up chick in her own right, Morgan is the Deputy Prime Minister
of the JayLa Conspiracy House and a JC/Lance slash addict. She was introduced
to JayLa (actually, slash altogether) by me. Although she devours every
story I send her, she still hasn't written a single fic--although she says
she's come up with a good idea for a songfic just recently. Getting her to
write it is the challenge, though. She's in the early stages of slash-author status.
The inspiration has to come first. And then the will, because getting her to
READ it in the first place was a challenge in itself! I got her into JayLa
by sending her one of the best stories I've ever read, called "Worth It" and written
by everyone's role model, Em Lewis of Smoke and Mirrors. The story was so good, old Morg
just had to have more--and I, the happy accomplice, supplied her with it. Soon she started
to look for it herself, and now she's just as into it as I am. There's no greater feeling than
getting someone into slash.
Akira is one of the coolest girls I know, not to mention a GREAT
web designer. She's been into shonen-ai/yaoi (the equivalent of slash in the anime world)
probably longer than I've been into JayLa. Very recently I introduced her to
*Nslash, and now it's grown on her completely. She's the one who's agreed to design this
site, and she's better at it than I'll ever be. Oh, and Akira's also the Scribe of the
JayLa Conspiracy House.
That's about everything we're willing to tell you...So Join the Conspiracy, and remember:
Believe.
Indigo.
