My Frustration with "Other Pairings"
If the above picture makes you want to be violently sick in your garden, this is the rant for you. Note how Chris is *dear god, dear god* tickling Lance, while Joey looks on, probably thinking "I gotta get me some of THAT." He has even gone so far as to put his hands dangerously close to Lance's hips. Lance, though clearly enjoying it, looks like he'd be having more fun with the gentleman in the black ladies jacket. Well at least, that's what my mind tells me.
Anyway, my point is, there are many people out there just like me who have devoted their lives to a certain slash pairing; though, regrettably, some of these people have strayed from the path and chosen to write exclusively about pairings OTHER than JC/Lance. This is what I have trouble understanding.
Oh, I know, I know, people say the same thing about JayLa, and I can't blame them really. It's easy to trick your mind into seeing things. But honestly, can we really believe that the other kids are gay in real life? Highly publicized though it may be, the steamy Justin/Britney relationship seems real enough. And Chris was DEFINITELY broken up about the end of his eight-year relationship with Dani. And Joey? Heck, he's fathered a child with a woman whom he is currently dating! That leaves JC and Lance. Just look at them. They're as flaming as a thousand suns. Yes, they've both had girlfriends, but JC broke it off before he was forced to commit fully, and Lance snagged his *Nchick in what was obviously a desperate attempt to prove his sexuality (though Lance asserts that she's a "good friend" who he's only just now started to have *cough cough* feelings for).
But we of The Conspiracy know better. And that is why we feel it is our duty to promote the most highly probable pairing in all of *Nslash. I can't help it, nothing else does it for me! That's why I get very angry when my sister tricks me into reading, for example, JC/Joey (urrgh, had a NASTY picture floating in my mind for days after...still haven't gotten her back for that...). Yes, she actually takes over my computer and plants pictures labelled "JC&Lance" on my desktop, pictures which are in fact of either JC or Lance in highly suspicious positions with other band members. Yeesh. She really puts a lot of effort into my conversion.
It bothers me, seeing as she used to be a JayLa purist, like me. But oh well. It can't be helped. I just hope she sees the light eventually. Or I'm going to have to use force, and it won't be pretty (okay, that's just ALL talk but I said it anyway).
