My First Boat
I bought this used boat from boat dealership in the fall in 2005.
It is a SeaRay 1995 Laguna 18-ft center console.
It looks great and it runs fine even with 4 adults on board.
But it has problems with the T-top attachment and a small area on
the deck behind the captain seat.
Need to Add an Auxiliary Motor
I want to add an 9.9hp auxiliary outboard motor to the boat.
I need it as a backup motor to bring me home just in case the
main motor becomes malfunction; afterall, the motor is already
10-years old. Moreover, I can also use it as a trolling
motor for fishing, or I can use it to fish in lakes that don't
allow motors that are more than 9.9hp.
I have decided to get either a Yamaha T9.9 High Thrust motor
(or T8) or a Mercury 9.9hp Big Foot motor. Now, I need
to decide how long the shaft that the motor should have.
I hope people can help me to choose the right shaft length.
Please look at the transom of my boat to see the shaft
length that I should get. Thanks!
