The train trip was an overnight...from Jasper Townsite into Vancouver, BC. On the one hand, trains are a great way to travel and see the scenery. On the other, it is not always easy to sleep on one. Especially with stops. We got into Vancouver around 8 in the morning and almost immediately boarded a bus that would take us on a quick tour of the city followed by the ferry crossing to Vancouver Island and ultimately, Victoria, BC.

The crossing to Schwartz bay took a couple of hours and was a great time for watching the magnificent scenery and hundreds of islands between the mainland and Vancouver Island.

After our night's stay on the island in Victoria, we returned to Vancouver for some more touring of the city. By far the best place we visited in the city was Stanley Park...1000 acres along the harbor that is both open space and forested. Amazing to think this scene is from a park right in the city.
