Paul Molitor

Paul started his career with the Milwaukee Brewers as a short stop.  He moved to second base part way through his rookie season and moved around for much of his career playing every position but pitcher and catcher.  He finished his career as a first baseman and designated hitter.  Paul always played the game the way it was supposed to be played.  He was blessed with great instincts to complement his athletic ability and that helped make him into a star.  He always hustled and gave everything he had, which could explain why he had so many injuries throughout his career.  If he hadn't missed so many games due to injuries, he might just have made a run at Pete Rose's hit record.  As it is, he finished his career with over 3000 hits and is almost a shoo in for the hall of fame.  Possibly his best year was 1993 when he finished second in the batting title and won his only World Series as a member of the Blue Jays.  Paul always carried himself with dignity and class.  He was a pleasure to watch on the baseball field and someday he will make a great Manager. Congratulations on being elected to the Baseball Hall of fame.
