About My City KOZHIKODE (CALICUT)
This city was ruled by Zamorins.. until the East India Company and later the Queen of england took it from them. The name Calicut is anglicised form of 'Kalikut', the arabic for malayalam kozhikode. it is a historical town with a hoary past. This splendid land attracted lots of people to it. Vasco-da gama first landed on Kozhikode, this paved the way for colonization and later looting of the property by the British.
