How to read notation (courtsey Ezsargam.com)

Keyboard Layout
A typical keyboard has either 37 keys or 61 keys. The keys from 1 to 12 are called the notes of lower octave, keys from 13 to 24 are called the notes of medium octave and the keys from 25 to 37 are called the notes of higher octave for 37 keys keyboard. The keys from 1 to 12 are called the notes of double lower octave, keys from 13 to 24 are called the notes of lower octave, keys from 25 to 36 are called the notes of medium octave, keys from 37 to 48 are called the notes of upper or higher octave and keys from 49 to 61 are called the notes of double higher octave for 61 keys keyboard.

You can set any one of the keys as your basic note S according to the voice-base of your throat. Suppose your basic note S Tallies with the 25th key of the keyboard. Taking this key to be your S you can devise your personal octave. Thus you will get all the notes of your normal (medium) octave automatically. The male singers have usually their normal S at the key No.25 and M at key No 30.

The sound of female voice has higher pitch. So they fix their S point at 30th key and their range of middle octave would go up to 41st key. Generally black keys ace used as S by them. Once the basic note is fixed the entire lower and upper octaves are fixed automatically.
