Swept 1 had shown that I could approximately get the twist correct and MH45 seemed to work OK so I set about building a higher performance flying wing. Aspect ratio went up from 4.6 to 7.6 and weight was 925 grams. Span 60". Wing loading 10 oz/sq.ft.
I used 0.8mm ply over white foam. This makes a very strong wing and weight is about right for a slope soarer. This model was supposed to be very fast but it never was. I think a large part of the problem was, even though I varnished the ply, it didn't have a very smooth surface. Handling was great, no problems, except the typical flying wing death spiral when stalled.
