I managed to purchase this Blaster 2nd hand but unflown. Although expensive it was was a bargain as far as DLG's of this quality go. I threw out the unknown brand servos which were in it and replaced them with JR371's as I didn't want to waste an expensive model on unknown cheap servos.
After reading some rave reviews by other Baster owners on RC groups I had high expectations of this model. It has a reputation for being overweight by recent standards, but carries its weight well.
Mine came out at about 12.5 oz. The one thing the Blaster doesn't lack is she is one of the prettiest DLG's with its elliptical moulded wing and (unusual) built up tail.

Flight Report.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was dissapointed with this models thermal performance. It is quite difficult to get it up to decent height to hoon around and do some aerobatics. I think generally speaking these models, with the Drela foils, are more biased towards launch and I'm not a fantastic launcher. Under 10 oz performance might be more acceptable. Some days (especially windy) there's nothing around, and you throw and you throw and you can't find anything.
However, on a good day it is great fun. There's something special about throwing a plane in the air and then climbing to spec height. Even on a not so good day its just fun to throw as hard as you can and find a few bumps to keep you up for an extra 30 seconds or minute.
