| Dear God. Dear God, I've seen so many things during my life. I wonder, Will I ever reach the end of this strife? I imagine That someday I'll find my place, A day when My tears will be reflected in another's face. You'll see, The minute that my time is up, I'll sit And drink the poison from the cup. And this, I will do most willingly. To others, I'll just be another memory. Dear God, What do You have to say to this? My love Is something You won't have to miss. You'll have it Even when my life is over. I'll die, But that will serve to bring me closer. I've seen The tunnel of eternal life, And now, I'm slowly reaching for the light. You see The only thing I'll really miss: The softness Expected from a lover's kiss. Dear God, Can You release me from this pain? I swear, My head's exploding from the strain. I try To live the best way that I know. But when The shot is fired, it's time to go. I want Only to be by Your side. A place Where I will never have to hide. Some time To try to get my head on straight. So tell me That death will be my only fate. |
