Just a Little More Green but not Crazy Yet
1. Hang-dry your clothing (completely or after most of the "free" water has been dried off in a clothes dryer) - an auto thermometer setting on your dryer helps with this.  Pick and choose what you hang dry.  It doesnt have to be everything.

2. Buy green energy credits from the the former Vice President or elsewhere.

3. Buy a newer clean burning diesel car that gets high mileage or buy a small car.

4. Buy Green stock and mutual funds instead of the standard ones.

5. Install a clean burning wood, wood pellet or corn pellet stove.  A household could save 1000 gallons of propane a year if converted entirely to wood.  Since wood is a renewable biofuel, it doesn't create any new CO2 in the atmosphere, saving 13,000 lbs of CO2.  This is equal to the CO2 produced by driving a car 15,000 miles a year at 25mpg.  We often focus on vehicle emissions when home heating is also a significant contributor to global warming.

6. Use gutter catches and use rain water that drains from your roof where you want it and when you want it (i.e. for watering plants, crude washing, etc).  A gutter catch is essentially a drum with a diverted overflow that hangs beneath your roof gutter spout.

7. Cook/heat/dry w/natural gas instead of electric. Delivered electric for the same tasks is much more expensive and has a higher environmental footprint from transmission losses.  This should be balanced by the type of electric power you are getting.  I.e. wind, hydro, etc.

8. Use LED when it becomes economic - biggest bang for the buck on straight conversion of electricity to light and longest lasting.

9. Flush less If its yellow let it mellow if its brown down flush it down.

10. Install passive solar to heat the water in your home.

11.  Next time you have to replace your heater or air conditioner replace it with a geothermal system.
