JAY ESTEL PARTON WAS BORN IN
KNOX COUNTY KENTUCKY, JUNE 11, 1904.
JAY WAS BORN to DORA NETTIE HELTON
and her husband JOHN W PARTIN.
DORA was the daughter of JOSEPH M. HELTON,(Often called JOAB or BLACK JOE). Joseph's picture can be seen HERE with his daughter's EMELY, MARTHA, and DORA (seated) and BETTE, as well as his son in law JOHN W PARTON,
and his grandson CHARLES, who was born in 1901
, son of DORA and JOHN.
JOSEPH (Joab) was the son of JERMIAH HELTON and DEBORAH HUBBARD HELTON.
JERMIAH was the son of OLD JOAB HELTON &
NANCY ANN HATFIELD HELTON.
DEBORAH was the daughter of MOSES HUBBARD JR
and MARGRET "PEGGY" McFARLAND.
On OCTOBER 4th, 1905 in a tiny town of Liberty Hill Tennessee

BESSIE CATHERINE LOUISE HELTON
was born to RUBY ESMERALDA ELEANOR WILSON and her husband DAVID L.S HELTON. DAVID was a CHURCH Deacon at the LIBERTY HILL BAPTIST CHURCH, and RUBY was a stenographer.
Both JAY and BESSIEwere HELTON'S
from PETER HELTON, the 1st LINES,
but many many generations and marriages
seperated their bloodlines.
It was 22 years later that their paths would cross, and a LOVE STORY beyond reasoning would begin;............
JAY had married very young in KENTUCKY to ETHEL MABES, she too was a HELTON by blood, to this marriage was born 2 childern; CHARLES and NETTIE EMMALINE, they were born as PARTON, but as time and the marriage passed, their last names became PARTIN, they were born in CORBIN ( Whitley County) KENTUCKY area. This marriage ended and Jay married for a second time, this story was told his last born child, by Jay himself. He told that he had remarried in the 1920's and he, with his second wife had 2 childern. Named after JAY PARTON's mother and father, also so that the "first" JOHN & DORA PARTON/PARTIN came to be.

It is believed that this family would have been in TENNESSEE or INDIANA, OHIO,or perhaps even the KENTUCKY area.
Shortly after the birth of their second child, JAY and ETHEL's marriage ended, and JAY PARTON went to Chicago for a short while, then went to INDIANA and TENNESSEE.
MEANWHILE
BESSIE HELTON had graduated High School, and married in TENNESSEE, to a
man named THEODORE JENKINS, he was a "dashing ARMY MAN", " just back
from the War", shortly after they were married, they were to learn that
MR JENKINS was to become a father by a friend of theirs, as the child
birth grew near the woman was ill, and knew she could not care for the
baby properly, and she offered the child to THEODORE and BESSIE, they took
her and BETTY LOU came into their lives and hearts. When BETTY was little
over a year, this marriage began to fail, perhaps over the baby, perhaps
not as BESSIE never spoke of the child's beginning, BETTY was her baby,
from birth, but the marriage failed, and BESSIE took BETTY with her when
she left, and a few months later the HELTON/HELTON X PARTON lines would
meet, leaving the rest to the Angels, and so JAY ESTEL PARTON and BESSIE
CATHERINE LOUISE HELTON married, the COUPLE with "THEIR" daughter BETTY,
wanted to begin a new life, where he could earn a better living than his
beloved KENTUCKY could offer them, and so together with the baby girl,they
road FREIGHT CARS, from INDIANA to SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. JAY worked with the
WPA during the Great Depression and help build the LOS ANGELES COLISIUM, in
the early 1939/1940 he went to work for the LOS ANGELES EXAMINER
NEWSPAPER as a District Manager, while BESSIE stayed home and had
their family, born to this marriage was DORA LEE and CORA LEE
(Twins, Cora died at birth), RICHARD HAROLD, JOHN DAVID, ARTHUR ESTEL,
ROBERT ALFRED, ROY TERRELL and their BETTY LOU was raised, loved and
treated like one of their own birth childern. Never knowing she was not
their own until she was a adult with a child of her own and had diabetes
that needed to be researched and so she was told much to the heartbreaking
sadness of JAY & BESSIE, but as BETTY LOU said..." It didn't matter, they
were her mother and father". JAY and BESSIE raised their childern in the
light of the Lord, spending hours telling family traditions and stories of
those they'd left behind. By the time their daughter was 7 yrs, she knew
STORIES ABOUT every relative in the beautiful hills of their birthlands,
and of their CHEROKEE BLOODLINES. And knew of her father's other
marriage's as he searched for the 2nd marriage childern for years. It was
later in her 7th year that Dora met her half sister EMMALINE, when EMMALINE
PARTIN came and lived with her father for over a year before returning to
her mother. When EMMALINE left, Dora started writing to both her sister and
ETHEL, the mother of EMMALINE, and so the family was always in contact.
Every year or so, JAY would go back to KENTUCKY and spend a week or more
with his first family of childern. BESSIE was never jealous because she
knew where his heart and love was... with her.
Years passed and alcohol got worse in the life of JAY, he had always drank, and it got more so with age. He drank, calling himself an alcoholic, he went for "cures", but it was a hard bug to fight, he drank. HE and BESSIE would have "Family fights", and yelling was apart of the scene, (as most families who love one another will do) but he also worked and NEVER did his family go without, nor were they embarrassed/mistreated by him, nor by either of their parents, spankings were just that, spankings and they learned to walk the path of love and trust, more years passed and the childern were all grown and the LORD had seen fit to put into their lives, a child who needed the loving home they could offer her, and so an 11 month old LISA LYNN was taken into their hearts and home, she was born in 1968, and in 1969 she became their own, as they grew older the couple HUNGERED for the beautiful areas of their births, and the kinfolks that were still there, and so in 1971 they decide that they would go HOME to live out there lives, and live in a "better place" to raise LISA LYNN, than a Gang filled streets of LOS ANGELES. And so they with their son ARTHUR ESTEL moved "BACK HOME", never knowing that within the next few years their lives would be taken in an act of violence and greed.
In 1974, they were murdered by home invasion, by a man they had met in KENTUCKY, and had once tried to help. As you read the LOUISVILLE OFFICAL POLICE FILE HERE , you will see WHY their lives were taken, and the RUMORS and UNTRUTHS told by others, will be disproved and the truth will be known for all the generations that will follow. Yes their lives were taken by a man named JOHN HAYES, because of his wickedness
But in the hearts of the Childern and other family members left behind, they know that they were taken because the LORD needed 2 more Angels in his domain. At their deaths, they were buried in EASTERN CEMETERY in Louisville, Kentucky. And after the Great Horror stories of the dealings of that Cemetery, that you can read about HERE and was also televised by Connie Chung, they were exhumed and creamated and taken to Oklahoma, where the couples oldest son, JOHN and their daughter DEBORAH DORA lives, in a town called ENID.
DAWN PARTON, daughter of Deborah Dora, had a beautiful baby daughter in this year 2002. DAWN and the BABY, lives as our families did long ago, in the "CIRCLE OF LOVE"...."THE FAMILY CIRCLE", and in the family home with her mother. The BABY will carry on the beloved name of BESSIE CATHERINE LOUISE,, as well as other past gramma's names, and so you can see JAY and BESSIE HELTON PARTON lived out their LOVE STORY..... Dying as they would have wish to, to the very end........ TOGETHER..... AND THEY LEAVE BEHIND A FAR GREATER LEGACY THAN MONEY, THEY LEAVE BEHIND A LEGACY THAT WILL BE HANDED DOWN GENERATION after GENERATION.....THE LEGACY OF LOVE............
