Academic career
I graduated with a First Class (Honours) Degree in Mathematics at the University of Kelaniya, in 1991 and obtained a Merit pass for my Master of Science degree in Industrial Mathematics from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 1998. I read for my Ph.D. (July 1999 - May 2003) in Computational Mathematics within the School of Mathematical Sciences at the Queensland University of Technology in .
