AARTI & VAMAN'S GHAR

Lounging Area
The Lounging Area:

This is where we spend most of our awake-time at home. The Dhurie is a Shyam Ahuja (Cheap at 500 bucks). The Diwan is a stack of matresses . The Chairs are low gujarati chairs (They are from Ashu's house). The Tripod stool has a leather saddle top with embroidery(Arvind & Beena gave it for house warming).

The cane chestis from Ashu's collections(details later on this page). On the wall in the niche is a framed Ganjipha . To its right are framed Madhubani paintings. On the window are bambooChics.

The Sitting area

In this corner is working crank-up Gramaphone (antique?, well it came from chor bazaar to ashu's collection). On the wall are a Papier Mache Kathakalli head (This is from Bhatta & Navita). Gujrati Puppets (Aarti's mummy gave this) and a braz colored teracotta sun of some tribal origin.

The Cane Chest

Yet another piece of furniture from Ashu's home. The Objects De Art on the top are. (From Left) Crystal vase (Arvind & Beena gave it to us ), Crystal Dolphin (Petu got it for us from Honk kong), Small Tea set (This is from ashus collection). Our Wedding snap in a cheap Mc Donalds cardboard photo frame.

Stone skull with LEDs for eyes (Vaman had got it for Bhatta, Bhatta put in the LEDs but dint dare to take it to Singapore). Laminated photo of Sachin's Chaul. Laughing buddha (again from ashu's). Aarti's lucky golden Ganesh. Wooden Spatula (Bhatta got it for Vaman from his HoneyMoon). Tribal wire brass figurines (ashu gave them to Aarti). Black clay bell (Navita gave it to Vaman). Ashwin Babby's snap. Walnut shell Turtle (Rama got it for Vaman from his HoneyMoon in Mt Abu). A small briefcase likeness cardholder (From ashu's collection again) (Guess its very hard to see all of these in the fig ,but strain your eyes )

The Computer

The computer table is an antique brass cradle (Vaman's Granma got it from hers sasural for her first delivery) used upside down covered with a chakda. With Kutchi embroidery. The computer is another antique: Pentium 100 (Yes it qualifies as an antique) 32 Mb ram, 1.2 GB HD, Creative Multimedia kit, 1.44Mb, 22kbps modem.
