This is a web album of the wedding ceremony of RAMKUMAR & RENATA (Sept10, 1999) All the snaps have been clipped on to the greenboard alongside. To see the photos in detail, click on them. The photo description that appears alongside, has been provided by BUM himself. We have taken the liberty of adding our comments though. Bum's descriptions are in Bold font, and ours in normal font. INTRODUCTION

My wedding was kind of unique in that there was no religous ceremony. Renata is Christian and me being Hindu, I did not want to complicate the occasion wirh both the functions. The first few photos ( the ones in which both of us are in white) are the photos from our registration at the marriage registrars office. The registration was done in a town 150Km from our house . When we came back home we had a small Malayalee function, with the traditional welcoming of the bride into the new house and the elders feeding a sweet concoction of banana in sweetened milk. The same day, we had the reception at the Concorde hotel. She changed once into her saree from her gown. This is the first time she wore a saree. Actually she wore 3 sarees that day. 5 days later we left the islands of Tioman. The 3days-2nights were well spent on the beach, snorkelling, partying, swimming, eating etc.

This was the entrance to the main ballroom at the Concorde hotel where the reception was held. There were 350 guests. It was a sit down dinner with each table having 10 guests. Marriages are made in heaven..... do not pay the ballroom guy

This was taken in the evening at the lounge of the hotel in islands of Tioman where we had gone on our honeymoon (no overlays here)

This was the cake cutting ceremony in the evening. The whole thing was not the cake. A very small portion of the plaster shaped like the real thing was edible and "cuttable". Thats one way to have the cake and eat it too.

This is both of trying to look at the camera with the straight face and me trying on the Godfather look Bum thinks he looks like Alcapone Reneta thinks he looks like Al Kaput . If you have any comments about how the groom looks in his gelled back hair and red lipstick you are encouraged to pen your thoughts on a piece of paper put it in a bottle and throw it out of the nearest window (Make sure that the window is open)
