                  Using HELP and TUTORIALS
                  in Animagic GIF Animator
                  ========================

All the help files and tutorials in Animagic are in HTML format.
Using this format allows us to embed real examples of
animated GIF files in the tutorial text.

In order to access the help and tutorials you must have an
Internet browser (Netscape Navigator or MS Internet Explorer)
installed and properly associated with files of .html extension.

To make sure your Internet browser is properly associated with
.html files, use Windows Explorer and find any .html file.
For example, if you installed Animagic in "C:\Animagic"
you can look for the file:

C:\Animagic\help\help.html

Within Windows Explorer, double-click on the file name (or icon).
If the association is setup correctly, Windows will start your
Internet browser, displaying the file help.html.
If the association is not setup correctly, Windows will bring up
a dialog box, asking you to point to the application that should be
used to read the file you just double-clicked. At this point you can
search your disk and find the location where your Internet browser
resides. Make sure you check the option "Permanent settings".

From now on, Animagic can bring up your help files just like
Windows Explorer did when you double-clicked on the .html file.

FAT vs. LEAN versions
=====================

Because the animated GIF files included with the tutorials take
a lot of space, we have created two versions of the software -
Lean and Fat. Both versions are FUNCTIONALLY IDENTICAL.
The differences are:

Lean version -
------------
Includes only the main help file (in .html format). All the tutorials
and sample GIF animations are located on Animagic web site.

Pros - saves space. takes only about 450K to download the software.
Cons - you must be connected to the Internet in order to
       access the tutorials.

Fat version -
------------
Includes the main help file with all the tutorials
and sample GIF animations.

Pros - you do not need to be connected to the Internet when
       accessing the tutorials.
Cons - takes about 4,500K to download the software.
