Hangers and displays are available so you can properly display your medeival or Viking treasure, crossbows, halberds or daggers. The blades are not sharpened although they will t ake an edge. Some swords are stainless and some are carbon steel depending on what part of the world and factory that they come from. All are unique, one of a kind creations and true metal works of art. Finished in matching high-gloss black , this traditional maintenance kit features a distinctive sliding top, and includes the Shogun's or Daimyo's crest embossed in gold on the front. The kit contains the tools (blade oil, rice papers, an oiling cloth, a powder ball for blade polishing and a brass awl and hammer) needed to maintain a working katana. Also included is a black sword bag. These instruments are NOT toys; their use requires the training and supervision of a qualified Sensei before use in training and/or sanctioned comp etition. Their use in ANY other form (i.e. chopping trees down in the backyard, etc. ;-) can result in severe injury to the user and to the instrument, If you are not qualified, DO NOT attempt to use these instruments before securing qualified instruction. Owning an instrument such as this carries with it a responsibility to gain the instruction needed to become proficient and qualified in its use. Users should contact a qualified Sensei and join a D o jo to receive proper training. The necessary training is NOT available via books or videos; and no, it is definitely not as easy as it looks.
