A young Castillian noble, ejected from his home province of Torres by the Montaignian invasion. He is a devout follower of the Vatcine Church, though the actions of the Inquisition have made him begin to question the Prophet's representation. He fights with the Torres bullfighting style of fencing and takes great pride in his abilities.
A young Vodacce woman who grew up in an orphanage. She lived a life of servitude and poverty until it became aparant that she was gifted with Sorte. Prince Lucani snatched her up and introduced her into a life of relative comfort, though she is charged with conducting his bidding beyond his borders. Skilled in dagger fighting, she can be a ruthless opponent, who can turn fate itself against her opponent. However, not even she knows of her true lineage...
A Vesten warrior, who is very proud of his heritage in the old ways. He despises the Vendel for what they are doing to the memory of their ancient kings. He is a gifted fighter and Skj�ren, manipulating the runes of old to punish the foolish. Urden is large, boistorous and prideful. But his travelling companions still don't know why he has left his home.
Lars loves three things in life: Eisen, ale and a good fight. He is a simple man, who doesn't seem to care about much. Unfortunately, Lars remembers little of his past, thanks to an accident on the high seas. The Dracheneisen panzerhand he wears tells everyone that he comes from a position of power. However, nobody knows anything about Lars (including Lars) and his drinking is not helping his recollection...
A Castillian sea dog, who seems to be without a crew. His skill with the sword and ability to blend in with the seediest crowd helps in the outlying areas of Theah. However, he has not told anyone of his past, or whom he sailed with. More importantly, who might be after him to repay old debts.
