Face Language (phrenology)
Hmm...This science died out because of its mis-use and obvious
generalizations. The reason I have it here? Well, we all make some general
conclusions about people by how they look. How is that reached? Are these
general rules really true? If we do judge people by how they look in our
modern society, how does this affect their personality development? Will a
person with big full lips be considered more generous and kind by us? If so,
will that affect their development as humans, really making them more generous
and kind by nature? Do we hold a certain innate sense of face recognition (a
baby can recognize a kindly, smiling face can it not?). Are we raised to hold
small unconscious judgements about people based on how they look? I know I
look at a person and judge them to be many things in one instant, how do I do
that? and why would I consider it accurate? All these questions and more make
phrenology a subject of great interest. Enjoy.
