GAME PLAY
POWER SURGE! Two teams of two kids competed. In round one, "Dots" a series of dots appeared on the board and a subject was revealed. When connected, they formed a picture. A question was asked, and a correct answer earned the team 20 points. They selected a square and all dots in that square were connected. A correct guess of the contents of the picture was worth 50 points, a wrong guess cost them 20. Hidden on the board were two "power surges." These were picture-related games that when completed earned the team an additional 20 points and an actual portion of the picture was revealed to them. If time ran out in the middle of a picture, the actual photo got revealed one square at a time and wrong guesses cost nothing. Once time ran out, round two began.

Round two involved lines. Now the board was broken up into squares with points on them and a new subject was revealed. A question was asked with several parts. Any team that gave all answers earned 40 points. Any part they missed was open for the other team to take. Whatever team earned the points picked two points to connect for every part the question had. If the lines made formed a box, that portion of the picture was revealed. They could guess for 75 points, and incorrect guesses still cost 20. The "power surges" this round took two forms - either played center stage and involving knowledge, or a physical activity, still involving pictures. Stunts earned them 40 points. Once again, pictures were revealed square by square if time ran out. After time ran out, the highest scoring team went to "Mega Memory."

In the bonus round, "Mega Memory," nine pictures were shown to the team for ten seconds. O'Malley posed a question, the answer being one of the nine pictures and the clock ticked down from 35 seconds. Taking turns, the team pressed the number of the picture on the keypad in front of them. If they were right, they won $100 for the first six matches. The seventh and eighth matches earned a prize and the ninth was for the grand prize.

NOTES
Some shows feature an opening picture, revealed square by square and the team who buzzed with the correct answer won twenty points - no penalty for a wrong guess. Sometimes 45 seconds was given for "Mega Memory."

Mike O'Malley went on to host "Nickelodeon Guts" and had his own show, appropriately titled "The Mike O'Malley Show" which was pulled after a few episodes on NBC. He currently appears on the CBS series "Yes Dear."

MY THOUGHTS
The second most intellectual Nick game (right below "Make the Grade"). Mike O'Malley surprisingly can carry a game to decent success. The physical stunts used were unneccesary. One of few kids shows to reward more cash than prizes. A decent format. (Welcome to Abstract Review...)
