PHONE HOME GAME
Year(s): 1983-1988

RULES: A player whose postcard was drawn at random was called at home to play along with an in-studio contestant. Seven grocery items were shown. The at home player had a list of their prices. They gave a price and the contestant tried to guess which item was that price. Three items were played. Each one they got right meant winning the cash amount attached to it. There was a maximum of $15,000 (split between them) possible. The values were $200, $1000, $2000, $3000 and $10,000.

WHY WAS IT RETIRED: Producers decided to discontinue all play-along elements of the show.

PERSONALLY...neat game. Played a bit awkwardly on the air, but it was neat and offered a nice cash prize. I'm surprised how many contestants earned so much cash - I personally find the pricing difficult.

NOTES: Debuted on the 12th season premiere.

Only played in the first half of the show so at-home players weren't kept on hold too long.
Now you have a chance to share up to $15,000 in cash!
