Rules and Regulations

1. High Compelling is a seperate power from Conjuration and it's price is 25 points. You are not required to have Conjuration to have this power. Direct psyche contests without this power are still easily created (Sorcery, Advanced Pattern Initiate (API), Logrus, Broken Pattern Initiate, touching, eye contact), however, this is the equivalent of bludgeoning someone with a club...not the fine surgery of high compelling.

2. Sorcery - You can not hang spells on the Pattern. However you can find objects in shadow (such as rings, jewels, special lint balls) which can allow you to hang spells on them. Or get API, API will allow spells to be hung on it. Or create them with conjuration, even! The Gm can be fairly unmerciful about having too many spells hung however, and maintinence time used, a dozen is usually all a sorceror can manage to hold onto at 20 hours of work per week. Spells can be taken from any source or made from scratch, but creativity is encouraged.

3. I'm not a large fan of power words, though I can see their use. If they make sense for you, feel free.

4. Bad stuff causes adventures. On the other hand, extreme amounts of bad stuff causes character creation. So don't go nuts with your bad stuff (10 is just about insane). And don't go nuts with your good stuff, you may find you're just too lucky to get involved when the universe goes to hell...

5. I'm starting this game without a Mature or Adult status. If, as I accumulate players, this needs to change, I am open to it, though Fade To Black is your friend and every character's right. Remember if you feel it is important, AIM is your friend, I just don't wish to be the Nazi who feels forced to kibosh you for it. Remember, I don't want to get my game deleted by the mods, and your fellow players probably don't as well.

6. Post in depth. Be active. Once per day is nice, at least once every other day as a generic rule, though I won't be a Nazi about it, especially if you're not involved in the current thread of RP. Use punctuation and what the heck, grammer is nice. 733+ speak will not be tolerated without extreme RP reasons (and if you make a leet speak shadow, you will not be the Storyteller's friend) but in general I am a tolerant man. Page post lengths are fairly unimportant to me. Complete sentences are required.

7. Amberites and Chaosians both speak Thari. Much of the game will likely be conducted in it. However, some of the characters and some of the NPC's will speak Farsi, German, English, Draconic, etc, or have the ability to translate such by means of spell. If your character can speak such, either note it clearly in the post or use the actual language if your player is so gifted and post a translation elsewhere. A player does not need to actually know a language for his/her character to use it, but as long as it's translated for the GM (who is horribly unilingual)and any players who's character whom would be able to understand, it is fine.
Whispers may be made as a private line. If you have difficulty with this, ask for specific instructions from myself or Lia.
You may also post the translation of the non-English/Thari comment as a private line. The Storyteller, of course, reserves the right to pass on the translation to those players by PM you didn't know could understand it...

8. Metagaming, i.e. Abuse of translations to act upon knowledge or any other OOC abuses of OOC player knowledge, will not be tolerated at all. This includes thinking posts . o O (Though why you'd post something no one but you could possibly know is beyond me...) Also, remember, you may have the relative power of gods, but so do your fellow players and some of the NPCs, be careful when power posing.

9. The books: Great reference for generic setting for the players. Horrible reference for the characters. Your character hasn't read them, and you don't know anyone who has or has even heard of them, since they likely don't exist. And I reserve the right to retroactively and without warning change anything in them. Especially if players' actions force me to.

10. These rules are subject to change at any time, in case I miss something (like an abusive color poster.) But I'm contactable on or off list, my contact AIM (which is often away, though I forget to set it so) is Thogaridin.
