Bidding and Stats
All characters will be built on 200 points. These characters in many ways will be analogues to Corwin's brothers and sisters from the first series of books. Or at least, they will be approaching those levels of power as the game starts.
We will be conducting an Attribute Auction for the game. We'll be auctioning off Attributes in this order:
Warfare
Strength
Psyche
Endurance
As soon as you are accepted into the game, you will need to make a bid in each of the four attribute auction threads. This initial bid must be in secret (put it in a private line to the game master).
After all players are accepted, and all players have put in their initial bids, I will be putting in a private bid for each of the NPCs in the game (your relatives) - except for Coral, Martin, Merlin, Benedict and Corwin. These five constitute the only remaining "elder" Amberites, and as such, their attribute levels are out of even your character's reach at this stage.
Once I've done that, I'll open the bidding in the order specified above. Once you've bid, the points are spent, you can't get them back, period. With the exception of the four characters listed above, 1st place means just that, 1st place. A winning strength bid means, again with the exception of the five characters listed above, your character is the strongest living thing in the Universe.
Every player has the right to keep bidding as many points as they like. If you get to the point where you're going to exceed your alloted 200 points, I'll warn you, but if you choose to keep going, it's up to you. Just remember - Bad Stuff is a pool of bad luck that just keeps on giving. It's a cosmic kick-me sign tattooed on your character's forehead.
Once either all players have explicitly said "pass" or "no bid", or once 24 hours have passed with no bidding activity, the one with the highest bid to date is the winner.
Each bid put forth MUST be higher than the previous bid. If you want to buy UP TO an existing rank created by a bid, you do so after all bidding is closed, when you turn in your character sheet.
I will be allowing extended Artifact and Creature potential. I will NOT let players mees around with the DEMON rules, as those are just for me. Anything else in either book, including other versions of EXALTED powers are all available to your characters at the start of play. You should discuss with me before taking anything, but with the exception of building your own demon, I will NOT say no.
When the game opens, the Jewel of Judgement is still implanted in Coral's eye socket. She has become the embodiment of the Jewel, the Champion of this reality (encompassing Amber, Avalon and Chaos), and an Oracle capable of giving off weird portents and omens. She is, in essence, the Dworkin of this saga.
Note, this does NOT preclude one or more characters having attuned themselves to the Jewel. If you want it, you can have it. Just remember this - and I'll point it out later - doing this not only costs 10 points but comes with other strings attached. You'll need a really good story, too.
Corwin is in full possession of his sword, and Merlin in full possession of both Ghostwheel and his collection of Spikards. But such things are within the grasp of any of your characters - as long as you pay the points for them.
Along the way, if you have any questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can.
Once all final bids are in, you'll have a day or two to submit a final character writeup, make sure to take advantage of the contributions (listed later in this thread).
Good Luck!
