The wind was cool upon my face and hands as I explored the hidden path along the ocean face of Kolvir earlier today. A wonderful chance to be almost alone with my thoughts. But then I am never truly alone...
I found a thin ridge and following it my path lead to a small cave. sitting there I could look out upon the lovely sea. Just the soft roar of the waves breaking far below and the occasional cry of sea birds broke the stillness of the cave.
There are so few places within the fine castle that father has seen constructed that one can find the stillness I find myself craving since... at times I do wonder what it would have been like to be an only child. But no, the noise and chaos of the family always shatters such thoughts. But there in the small cave was a chance to find a few moments of precious peace. I must keep it secret from the others. Perhaps store a few favorite books there for days when I just need to be alone.
Sitting there I thought back years to that fateful day when everything changed. Well, it was my own curiosity that lead to that dark ritual. Now, for good or ill, the deed is done.
The moon was riding high over the water when I left the cave. The ocean seemed still, almost like a mirror calling forth distorted reflections of the moon's glory. So I returned here to our home. the petty plots and ambitions of so many siblings. the memory of that peaceful place still brings a smile to my lips.
