I know this is sad but this story will be ending in 3 to 5 more chapters. This was really my first story that I continued to write. I hope you enjoy!!!

Roaring Love-Chapter-Chapter 25

“Brenda, you think you are pregnant?” Jax asks trying to catch his breath. Brenda nods and says, “Yes, I have been so sick the last couple of days, especially in the morning and I am late…what else could it be?” Brenda asks with tears in her eyes. “Brenda, this is marvelous if it is true!” Jax says scooping Brenda off the bathroom floor and twirling her around. “Jax, put me down,” Brenda says giggling. Jax places her down and she looks up into his eyes, filled with excitement. “You are happy?” Brenda asks biting her lip. “Why wouldn’t I be?” Jax asks. “Well, I just assumed you would think it was too soon,” Brenda says nervously.

“Brenda, I adore you with everything in me…I want to have a baby with you and you are going to be the most wonderful mother and I hope I am a good father…oh my god, Brenda…we are going to be parents!” Jax screams and picks her up again and kisses her lips. Brenda giggles and whispers, “But it is not definite yet so I don’t want you to get your hopes up…I am so glad you are happy.” “I will love this baby or the baby we will one day have with every fiber in me,” Jax says softly with his eyes gleaming. “I am so happy…everything is almost perfect,” Brenda responds gazing up into his eyes. “What would make everything perfect?” Jax asks nuzzling his nose in her hair.

“I want to marry you…I don’t need to ring in the New Year getting married…being with you is enough but I am so in love and I cannot stand not to be married to you anymore!” Brenda exclaims jumping into his arms. “Bren, are you sure you do not want to get married right now because we think you are pregnant…” Jax says as Brenda puts her hand over his mouth. “Jasper Jacks…this has nothing to do with me maybe being pregnant…I am just unbelievably in love with you and I don’t want to wait anymore…I want to marry you tonight!” Brenda says giggling in delight.

“What about all the stuff with your mother and Julia is coming here so you can tell her,” Jax says trying to hold back his smile. Brenda was glowing from the inside, out. “Jax, I will tell Julia and I will deal with my mother tomorrow…all that matters is you and me,” Brenda responds. “Are you sure…when, where?” Jax asks. “I think we should get married by ourselves in Malibu where we kissed the first time and let’s get married tonight,” Brenda says tilting her head to the side with a sly smile. “Brenda, you are crazy!” Jax says chuckling. “Only about you,” Brenda says turning around in a circle with her arms in the air.

“You don’t want anyone else there…Julia, Jerry…your mother?” Jax asks. “Jax, you are the only real family I have ever really had and you are enough,” Brenda says placing her head against his chest and hugging him. Jax pulls back and bends down on one knee. “So what do you say Brenda…shall we get married tonight?” Jax asks smiling. “Let me think… Hmmm…of course!” Brenda says pulling on his shirt and bringing his lips to hers. “You are perfect,” Brenda whispers. “No, we are,” Jax mutters back before leaning back in for another one of Brenda’s sweet kisses.

“Julia…hello,” Brenda says as she opens the door to see her sister’s blue eyes. “Brenda, please tell me what is going on,” Julia says sweeping past Brenda and into the living room. “Nice to see you too,” Brenda responds dryly. “Well Brenda, you sounded very urgent and I traveled all the way here and I would like to know why,” Julia says crossing her legs elegantly and fixing her blond curls. “Some things never change…always in a rush, aren’t we?” Brenda snaps. “Oh Brenda…I am sorry but I am worried…please do tell me!” Julia exclaims.

Brenda takes a deep breath and sits down on the couch. “Julia, mother is alive,” Brenda says waiting for Julia’s reaction. “Right and I am the president…please Brenda!” Julia says jumping up. “Julia, Jax had this woman checked out…in every way and she is living right below Jax and I,” Brenda says. “How in the hell did she survive and why didn’t she find us sooner?” Julia asks, placing her hands on her hips. “Julia, she has had amnesia for the years and she just started remembering about a year ago…Julia, it is her…she knows everything and Jerry went to France and got the whole story,” Brenda says biting her bottom lip.

“She is living downstairs? Ha…no way…Veronica cannot be alive,” Julia exclaims as there is a knocking at the door. Brenda runs to the door and says, “Then who is this?” She swings open the door to show Veronica standing there with tears in her eyes. Julia’s eyes darken and she whispers, “It is you…it really is,” as she takes her hand and entwines it with Veronica’s. “A perfect fit,” the two of them say in unison. Julia begins to tremble and whispers, “No one else knew that…we did that from the time I was three until you died and I never told anyone.”

“Sweetie, it really is me…I remember everything…remember Binky…that ugly pink stuffed bunny that Harlan bought you in Germany and you lost him on the river and sobbed for days,” Veronica says crying. Julia nods and Brenda observes. Julia seemed ready and willing to take their mother back with open arms within a few minutes. She was not ready yet. “My two daughters and me…together again…I could not ask for more,” Veronica says embracing Julia and Brenda for the first time in years. “I love my two beautiful girls so much,” Veronica says.

Brenda sat on the train, writing down her vows and then starts gazing out the window. She and Jax had vowed to not see each other for the rest of the day until that night at ten o’clock when they would be married. All the Veronica and Julia stuff was falling to the back of her head and thoughts of marrying Jax and having his child were moving forward in mind and heart. She would deal with her family situation when she returned home. All that mattered was Jax…he was the one who made her believe in herself again and fall in love with him and her life. He was her life and she could not wait to make their relationship official.

Brenda closes her eyes…memories of she and Jax begin to float through her head. The first time she had ever seen him was at Kelly’s Jazz Club and they had danced and he had wiped a tear from her cheek and then Sonny showed up. And then she walked into his office that day when she decided to model again and the words, “I’d day that’s an omen wouldn’t you?” linger in her mind and she smiles at the thought of that tiny ball of paper falling into the basket. Their first kiss in Malibu and their day in Atlantic City. The night Jax picked her up in the rain in Boston when she had found Sonny and Lily. Going to Malibu and admitting how much she loved him and the first time they made love in New York City at the Plaza. She looks down at the ruby bracelet that Jax had given her that night in Central Park and then at her ring when he has asked her to marry him.

“Paris,” she whispers, closing her eyes, remembering them dancing in the rain under the Eiffel Tower. And how supportive he had been when Lily had lost the child and Brenda had felt so badly. And also when Veronica showed up. He was always there…she had been so blessed and now she was going to marry him. “Few more hours and I will be Mrs. Brenda Barrett Jacks,” she says softly looking at her ring shimmering in the afternoon sun.

Brenda squeals in delight as the sand touches her toes and she sees Jax standing at the edge of the ocean with the priest. “You made it,” she hollers and Jax turns around and his mouth drops open. She looked stunning…her long hair fell in waves of midnight glossiness and her eyes shimmered under the full moon. A sleeveless, white silk v-neck dress hugged her curves and flared out at the bottom with the ruffles floating in the night wind.

Brenda runs toward him. He looked like a movie star. He was in black pants and a matching black bow tie with a white dinner jacket and white shirt and his hair was all wavy from the balmy night. He was also barefoot and Brenda runs into his arms and whispers, “I love you.” “I love you too, my precious Brenda,” Jax says cupping her face. “Would you like to begin?” the priest asks. “Yes!” they say in unison. The priest nods and says, “Jasper John Jacks, you may now recite the vows you have written for Brenda Veronica Barrett.” Jax smiles and turns to her and takes her hands in his and sighs deeply and begins.

''Most promises seem so imaginary, with a lifespan as short as a firefly's. In fact, most things that people hold dear, or say they do, don't seem to last. What's valuable one day is worthless the next. No one knows that better than I do. It's protected me from pettiness, but it's also kept me removed from life as most people live it.... Until you. How can I say so soon and so surely that my happiness in you will never fade? I can't say. It's like waking up with the answer to a puzzle and not knowing where it came from.''
''I never make promises, as a rule, but now every word between us from morning until night is a promise. I collect them in my head and at the end of each day; I turn them over and set them in place like bricks. They're that solid. That real. They've built us a home and fire and wind and flood can't touch it.
They give me a place where I can love you from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health till death do us part.''

Brenda looks up at him with tears in her eyes and whispers, “I have never heard anything so beautiful in my life…I don’t think mine can live up to that.” “Miss Barrett…your vows please,” the priest says gently. Brenda smiles and says, “I wrote you a poem…I hope you like it…” Jax squeezes her hands tightly as she begins to speak softly.

Fate has brought us here today to express our love for each other;
a love like ours is love hard to find.

I thank God everyday that he has answered my prayers.
He has given me the greatest gift I could ever receive;
he has given me you.

He gave me someone to love unconditionally,
someone to share my hopes, dreams, passions, and
to build a life of love and happiness with.

He sent to me someone who has shown me what
true love is really all about.

Someone who has seen many of life's turbulence, which
is a person who I will admire and respect throughout life.

He answered my prayer the day you stepped into my life,
and made it complete.

You filled that empty space in my heart.

You complete me.

You are the inspiration in my life to be who I am today.

You have made my dream a reality, a life filled with joy.

So let me tell you dear, there is nothing I wouldn't do for you,
I would lay my life on the line.

For you are my gift sent from above.

Each moment spent with you builds memories
to last out a lifetime, one's that will never fade.

So I thank God again for sending me you.

For you are my life, my soul, and my friend.

I love you…

Jax’s azure eyes are brimming with tears as are Brenda’s. “I love you too,” Jax chokes as he and Brenda embrace. “Do you Jasper John Jacks take Brenda Veronica Barrett to be your wife?” the priest asks. “I do,” Jax says smiling. “And you Brenda Veronica Barrett, do you take Jasper John Jacks to be your husband?” the priest says. “I do,” Brenda says with a lump forming in her throat. “By the power invested in me…I now pronounce you husband and wife…you may kiss the bride,” the priest says with a smile.

“With pleasure,” Jax says scooping Brenda into his arms and their lips meet in a kiss, sweeter than each of them had ever felt before.

Jax’s are from the show from the wedding that never was…they were so beautifully written that I could not resist using them.
