Flight of Destiny 56

Happy Holidays, in the last Chapter Ally and Jax had just left London for Chester to go to the National Trust Gala. Hope you enjoy.

"Jasp I swear this dress wasn't this tight when we left New York."

"Sweetie, you've been doing nothing but popping scones slathered in clotted cream in your mouth since we arrived. Now think about why your dress is so tight."

"But I never put on weight."

"Ally you don't eat that much rich food all the time either. Face it honey you've gained a few pounds. I haven't noticed it on you if that helps."

"So you are telling me I'm getting fat but you haven't noticed it?" Ally asked wondering how Jax would talk his way out of that mine field.

"No darling I'm just offering you a possible reason why your dress is tighter."

"Oh you're good at this. Now wonder you can talk your way around almost anything. I think you'll like the results of this dress being tighter."

"I'm sure I will too. I take it you are really popping out of your dress."

Ally finished curling her last ringlet and looked at the mirror, If I manage to stay in this dress it will be a miracle she thought and opened the bathroom door. Jax's breath caught in his throat when he saw his fiancee walk into the room. She was poured into a deep green brocade dress with cleavage beyond his wildest dream. His first thought was not wanting to let any man lay eyes on his Ally. Ally smiled at him and he decided he didn't mind having every man at the gala wish Ally was his.

"My Lord." Ally said with a deep curtsey.

"Oh Baby" Jax responded as his eyes grew smoky.

"Jaaaax!"

"I mean words fail My Lady." Jax said and bowed.

"That's better, so you like?"

"More like I'm not going to be capable of anything less than wicked thoughts until I can get you back here and in my bed. I now know why wars have been waged over women. I'd fight to the death for you."

"Jasp I don't know whether to think that's romantic or sick. I'm yours so you don't have to fight for me. I do like knowing I inspire wicked thoughts though."

"You always inspire wicked thoughts, why do you think I call you my wench?"

"I never actually figured that one out. I just knew you were using it as a warped term of endearment so I let you get away with it."

"So you don't really like it?"

"Jax I've grown accustomed to it just like I've grown accustomed to your face." She said with a grin.

"Oh and I'm so lucky with an ugly mug like this that I found a wench who grew accustomed to it." Jax said trying to stop his laughter.

"Listen to us we sound like we are about ten. Shall we go to this gala Sir Jasper of Jacks.?"

"It would be both my honour and privilege to escort you Princess P...Ally of Scone."

"Oh you are so lucky that you had the sense to not finish that word."

"I'm not stupid Hon, there is no way I'm jeopardizing being able to bed you tonight."

"Oh the Scandal, Sir Jacks, I am a good and virtuous woman who would never even dream of entering a wedding bed before I am properly married." Ally said in mock horror as she pressed her bodice against him and ran her finger over his lip.

"Your virtue is safe with me fair Maiden." Jax said huskily as he traced the outline of her cleavage with his finger and left a fiery kiss on her lips.

"I suggest we leave now or I'll be ordering myself to get thee to a nunnery." Ally said with a grin and left a soft kiss on his cheek.

Ally stole a glance at Jax on their way down to the car and decided now matter what the time period was Jax looked beyond perfect in a Tuxedo. She preferred the more traditional tux's of the 90's but she would have still fallen head over heels for a Nineteenth Century tux clad Jasper.
Jax had rented a silver Aston Martin when they left London and after carefully getting her entire dress into the car Ally knew why it was a good thing to have a horse and buggy. After sitting on a soft bustle for ten minutes Ally decided as romantic as it sounded in the EdithWharton novels she loved, the Age of Innocence was definitely not the era for her.

"You're quiet Sweetie, something wrong?' Jax asked.

"This dress is so wonderful standing up, sitting down it's literally a pain in the you know what."

"We will be there in a few minutes. No wonder English ladies were so fond of taking walks, they could maintain the regal illusion in relative comfort."

"The corset was such a killer, I have a small waist but imagine it wouldn't have been small enough in these times, I'd still be corseted till I could barely breath.'"

"Well you look absolutely ravishing Ally and I'm going to be the envy of every man there and every woman will be jealous of you."

"Aww thanks Sweetie, I see the sign for Tatton Park, thank goodness. Hey was Julia coming?"

"She was invited and accepted but when I talked to her last week she was on her way to Hong Kong and didn't know if she'd be back in time."

"I hope she can be here I like that Miss Barrett."

"Al, I know you don't want to here this but you would have liked Brenda if you met her."

"Jax I don't like selfish people who think only of themselves and nearly crushed the spirit of a sweet, loving man who dared to give her his heart. Jax I have nothing but contempt for that woman. I could never be friendly with her."

"Ally the important thing is she didn't crush my spirit and I found you. Do you really think I could have ever fallen in love with someone who wasn't a good person? Brenda was my friend first and foremost and that's why I know having met your friends and how you adore Julia and Alexis and V as I do, you would have been Brenda's friend."

"Well I think it would just be best if we dropped this conversation and maybe you can explain to me how you like Robin another time."

"You don't like Robin?"

"Umm no. I don't hate her but she grates on my last nerve. Part of it might have been suffering from Mono but if I had to hear one more story about Jason and how she put on a happy face during the Carly episode I would have screamed. I would have had more fun with Carly I'm sure."

"Carly has her moments I'm sure, it's just that we don't get along. The fact that she sees Emily as nothing more than an irritating brat doesn't endear her to me."

"No, I do adore Em, but Jax I think Emily and Carly like to provoke each other and neither of them know how to stop before they do or say something very hurtful that they don't really mean."

"You'll give Carly the benefit of the doubt but you won't give it to Brenda. I don't understand your mind sometimes Ally."

"Jax you've seen glimpses of my nasty side so I'm sure you know I'm not all sweet, innocence and light. I can be more ruthless than you in a heartbeat and Brenda just brings that out in me. She hurt the most important person in the world to me except for my Dad, I just can't understand how you don't hate her too."

"We are here and I think you are right we should just not talk about Brenda since we will never see eye to eye. Just please remember if you see Julia that she is her sister."

"I will and hey there is a footman waving at us you better stop."

"Hello Sir welcome to Tatton Park. If you could kindly park to the left and present your invitation a carriage will bring you up to the main house."

"Thanks "

"Oh wow Jax they are really going all out. This is going to be so neat."

"Oh by the way who did you decide we were going to be?"

"The Duke and Duchess of Warwick I think or it might have been the Baron and Baroness of Thornwick or Lord and Lady McComb. I couldn't make up my mind so I had V pick one."

"Oh Ally what am I going to do with you?"

"Kiss me?"

Jax smiled and kissed Ally's hand before whispering in her ear. "I wouldn't want to set tongues wagging about your purity now would I?"

"Hmm this behaving like a Lady stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be." She laughed.

Jax handed their invitation over to the carriage driver and they continued the rest of the way up to the Palladain Mansion. The driver told them Tatton Park was the most complete historic estate in Britain and stretched over a thousand acres of landscaped parkland.. He handed them each a little booklet on Tatton. Ally started skimming it and discovered that Tatton was actually maintained, managed and financed by the Chesire County Council. Just before she was going to ask why the National Trust was holding a fund raiser here she read the next line that mentioned that Tatton was on loan to Chesire from the National Trust who acquired it in 1958 when they were bequeathed it by the late Baron Egerton of Tatton. Ally remembered her Aunt talking about the wonderful formal gardens and Orangery on the property and she was happy it was such a nice day which meant the party would be held outside as well.

"So Sweetie what year is this?"

"1879"

"Hmm so I get to spend two centuries with the most beautiful woman of earth."
"You know if you asked me to buy swamp land in Florida I would."

Jax leaned over to whisper in her ear. "All I want from you my Lady is to get you out of that dress and make love to you until the end of time."

"I think I could manage that."

The carriage pulled up in front of the Mansion and Jax helped Ally out by wrapping his arms around her waist and bringing her down against his body to her feet. Ally wrapped her arms around his neck and left a searing kiss on his lips.

"Hello, Welcome to Tatton Park. Mr. Jacks I'd like to thank you for your generosity over the years and it's a pleasure to finally meet you. Mrs. Jacks that dress is incredible you look divine."

"Thank you, I'm afraid I don't know your name."

"Annabel Tisch and today I'm the Countess of Devonshire."

"Ally certainly is fond of your cream."

"Discovered scones and clotted cream? The are heavenly are they not?"

"Edible heaven. Your dress is very beautiful Annabel and please call me Ally."

"Thank you and let me give you your dance card and identity cards."

"That would help since Ally can't remember who we are."

"The Duke and Duchess of Warwick."

"Annabel can you tell me if Julia Barrett has arrived yet?"

"Yes Ally, Lady Testvalley arrived fifteen minutes ago."

"Thank you Countess, I'll see you later I hope."

"I'll look for you both."

Ally and Jax walked in to the grand entrance hall and picked up a glass of punch and wandered through the grand estate until they ended back in the library. Ally noticed Julia standing outside and rushed off to catch her leaving Jax to fix her a plate. Ally found Julia leaning up against a pillar looking out at the magnificant formal garden.

"Julia you look ravishing and I love your name. I knew I had found a kindred spirit in you."

"Ally! My word I think you dressed for Jax today didn't you? Talk about décolletage, I never realized you were that well endowed."

"Thanks Julia I'm not self conscious enough as it is. Yes this is all for Jax. You should have seen the look on his face when I was begging him to accept this invitation. His mind went straight to the gutter. He unbuttoned my shirt, pushed my breasts up with his hands and said he'd love to see his two beauties popping out of green brocade. I must admit I love the way he has been looking at me."

"Ally poured in that dress as you are, you really only have one choice: stand up straight, shoulders back and walk with confidence. Face it you will have every man drooling over you and every woman hating you with the exception of me."

"I don't know about that Julia you look pretty amazing yourself. That deep purple looks fabulous on you."

"Thanks, I take it you love Edith Wharton as much as I do."

"Yes and my favourite novel has to be The Buccaneers."

"Then I shall call you Conchita all day long." Julia said with a evil grin.

"Which would make you Nan?" Ally said with a take that look.

"Oh sure let me be the scandalous one. I see your husband the Duke approaching, play your role Ally. "

Ally stood up straight brought her shoulders back and turned towards Jax with a seductive smile on her lips. Jax almost dropped both plates when he saw the way Ally was looking at him.

"There you are my Duchess and I see you have found Julia. You look quite fetching my Lady"

"Why thank you my Lord. I just noticed someone I'd like to go talk to. Why don't you and Conchita explore the Orangery I hear it's unoccupied. I'll meet you back here in an hour or so for lunch." Julia swept away from the couple before Ally could say anything in return.

"Why is Jules calling you Conchita?"

"In The Buccaneers the fiery, sexy, wild character's name is Conchita."

"Hmm I might have to read that book and why don't we go see if we can be alone in the Orangery."

"My thoughts exactly."

Jax and Ally wandered the wrong way around the orangery trying to figure out how to get in. The ended up behind a white lattice trellis.

"Well this can give us some privacy." Jax said and pulled Ally into his arms. Ally returned his kiss with fervor as he leaned her against the building she turned and noticed the door. She tugged on his hand and opened the door to a lush, warm and sweet smelling orangery. They walked around until they found an inset bench and Jax pulled Ally on to his lap and started kissing her. He tilted her body to deepen his kiss and caress her cleavage. I want you Ally he whispered in her ear.

"Oh God Jax so do I but I don't want anyone walking in on us."

Jax got up, walked over to the French door, turned the lock and pulled the shade down. He moved a potted tree a tiny bit to block the view of the bench completely and returned to Ally.
He ran his hand up Ally's leg and discovered she had worn silk stockings with a garter. She noticed how smoky his eyes became and the rest became a blur as Jax removed her dress and made love to her until neither of them could move from sheer exhaustion.

"A conservatory, and orangery what's next Jax a greenhouse?" She asked playfully.

"Didn't' you say your friend had one on her property?"

"You are so incorrigible Jasp."

"And you love me for it."

"That I do."

"Oh Geez we better get going Julia has been waiting for us for nearly forty minutes."

Jax helped Ally back into her dress and left a soft kiss on her neck as they left the orangery and headed back to the main house.

Julia saw them leaving the orangery and met them at the top of the stairs up to the main house.

"If it's isn't' the virtuous Conchita and the Duke of Warwick." She said with a evil grin.

"Don't you have some girls to govern over Governess?" Ally shot back.

"Would you two stop talking about a book I haven't read. I've worked up this incredible appetite." Jax extended his hand to them both and walked up the remaining stairs and into the houses in search of food.

"Sex and their stomachs, that's all they ever think about." Julia whispered.

Ally nodded in agreement and both woman started laughing as they headed to the buffet line.
