Chapter 9
Author's Note: Hello, Angels. How is everyone doing? Right now, I'm writing this chapter in the car, so please don't get mad if this chapter is alittle confusing. My husband is driving on the parkway, and I have to pay attention to my hubby because he doesn't know what exit to get off at, remember he is from England and they are use to driving differently. It looks like he is getting lost, but he won't admit it. Why don't men just ask for directions?! LOL!! Well, anyway I hope you enjoy!! Feedback is very much appreciated!!
"Are you saying that she is dead?"
"That is exactly what I'm saying, but also you have to make an decision."
"About what?"
"Whether or not to keep Mrs.Jacks on life support."
(Lois looked at her in complete utter shock.)
"I can't make that decision! I don't have the authority, nor the right. Besides, I don't have the gutts to make a choice about life and death concerning my best friend."
(Dr.Meadows took Lois by the hand, and looked at her sternly.)
"I understand how you feel Mrs.Ashton, but you have to make a choice. We were unable to contact Mr.Jacks, and her next of kin, Julia Barrett; that leaves you next in line."
"Do you know what you're asking me to do?"
"Yes, I do."
"I'm afraid you don't because there is no way I'm sending my friend to an early death, knowing that her children will be motherless!"
"With all due respect Mrs.Ashton, Mrs.Jacks is dead."
(Lois started to get very angry.)
"With all due respect Dr.Meadows, how the h*ll do you know that she is dead?! She is in a coma, people wake up from comas all the time."
"Look, I do not want an confrontation; the bottom line is that you have to make an decision. If you don't then I'll be forced to show my hand, which means that the chief of staff will make the decision for you. You have twenty-four hours."
(Dr.Meadows then walked away leaving Lois to ponder and grieve over this decision.)
"What am I going to do?"
(Robin came behind her, and touched her shoulder.)
"Don't you mean, what we are going to do?"
(Lois looked at her with tears in her eyes.)
"Robin, I don't want you involved in this; you have suffered enough in your life."
"How can you say that? Like it or not I'm involved just like you. Brenda is my best friend too......we have to stick together, like she wanted us to."
"Stop talking about her in the past tense, she is not dead!"
"I didn't mean to.........but its hard not to when people think otherwise."
(Robin spoke softly.)
"I'm sorry Robin, I didn't mean to snap at you.....its just that this whole mess is getting to me. But the worse part is not knowing what to do, not knowing how to think, or feel."
(Lois raked her fingers through her hair in frustration, while Robin looked at her with sympathy.)
"I understand perfectly, its like this whole day isn't real, like a bad dream. I keep on thinking that I'm going to wake up, and start my day, like this never happened."
"I know whatcha mean. Any moment I would be expecting Brenda to come in at L&B
complaining about how music isn't filled with romance anymore!"
(Both Robin and Lois smiled.)
"What is going to happen to all of us? I mean, its like there is no answer, no hope. How can we help our best friend live?"
(THere was only silence......Lois started to pace the waiting room.)
"Lois, what are you thinking about?"
(Robin started to pace the room with her until, Lois jumped up and clapped her hands.)
"I've been thinking."
"I know that........"
"I know how we can save Brenda's life!"
(Robin looked at her in confusion.)
"Are you feeling alright? Just a mintue ago you were grieving in sorrow."
"Look, I'm fine.........we can't talk here. Let's go to the lunch room."

She was drifting......she was leaving this world to go to the next. But why? Was she dying? Is this death? The light was so bright.......she wanted to succumb. Succumb to what, death? She didn't want to die; so why is she in this place............
"Don't be afraid my child."
(THe Angel reached her hand out to Brenda.)
"Who are you? Where am I?"
"My name is Gabriel, but you can call me Gabe........And you are in heaven."
"That means that I'm dead."
"No, you are not dead........you are just sleeping."
"Then why am I here?"
"You're here because God wants to speak to you."
"Did I do anything wrong?"
"Brenda, you did nothing wrong. Infact, its about what you're doing right."

Robin and Lois were sitting at the table discussing how to save Brenda's life.
"So you are saying that this drug could save Brenda's life."
"Yes! Jax went to Portcharles to get it from Helena.....she is the only one who has it."
"But how do we know that he has it. We don't even know where he is."
"I know Jax has the drug.....he has saved Brenda's life countless of times. The only reason why he hasn't found us, or we haven't found him is because the city is in a state of emergency. The earthquake damaged all phone lines, and the roads are really dangerous."
(Robin looked at her skeptically.)
"Ok, but how do we know that the drug will work? Brenda is in a coma because of blood loss, not because of her gene illness."
"I'm sure that Jax will do everything in his power to recreate the drug, so it will help Brenda, but meanwhile you have to stay here and watch Brenda."
"Why?"
"Because I'm going to find Jax, and after we all save Brenda.........its time to go on a much needed vacation; God knows we need it!!"

Author's Note: Hey, Angels.....I'm so sorry that I took so long getting this chapter posted. My pregnancy has taken a toll on me, so please forgive me. Anyway if you want chapter eleven posted soon, then feedback is a must. Yes, I'm using blackmail.....you can thank a certain Angel named Amy who persuaded me to do that, LOL. Ok, on with the story!

Robin sighed as she looked through the Nursery's glass window. She couldn't believe how tiny they were, each weighing less than three pounds. But they were strong, fighting babies.....they had to be because their parents were. Brenda had always been strong since the first day they had met; sure she was a brat, but she was determined to fight for what she wanted. Jax was the sameway......when Robin met him she knew he was the type of man that didn't except "No" for an answer. He never gave up in everything that happen between him and Brenda(Robin smiled at that thought.) Now, she only hoped and prayed that Lois would find him in time to save Brenda's life......she didn't want the twins to be without an mother. Robin's thoughts were interrupted by a maternity nurse..........
"Excuse me, but may I help you?"
"No, I'm just looking at my best friend's new addition to the family."
(THe nurse smiled.)
"Oh, you mean the Jacks Twins; they are darling. Aren't they?"
"Yes, they are.....I just hope that their mother will live to see how precious they are."
(The nurse touched Robin's shoulder gently.)
"I believe that those twins won't loose their mother because God knows its not her time yet......have faith in him."
(It was Robin's turn to smile now.)
"Thanks so much for your kind and caring words; I really appreciate it."
"You're welcome; are you sure you don't need anything? Some food, maybe."
"I can't eat a thing right now. Actually, I could use another pair of scrubs to wear; these are way too big for me....also I need to know where my friend's room is. I would like to see her."
"I think that I could help you with the room, but the scrubs are going to take me awhile......the hospital is kinda short on scubs, but I'll see what I can do, ok."
"Thanks alot."
"Your friend's room is straight down the hall, and then make a left; its room 128B. You can't miss it."
"Thanks again."
"No problem."
Robin walked down the hall to see Brenda; when she opened the door she saw a bright light........
"Robin, you are finally here."
"Oh, my God.....Stone?"

It seemed that she was walking for days. She had to remind herself that she was doing this to save Brenda, but when this mess is all over she was going to kill Jax and Brenda for living so far away from the hospital! She wanted to take the car, but cars weren't allowed on the road since the earthquake destroyed all major express ways.
"I just have to walk alittle further.....then I'll be able to......."
Lois didn't finish her thought because a Honda Accord Coupe XL 2000 came speeding her way........
"Jax, will you please slow down.....before you kill us both!"
"I have to get to Brenda, she needs me!"
"I know, but you have to be careful; we are no good to her if we die in the process! Were not even suppose to be on the road."
Jerry's words were in vain because Jax slammed on his breaks nearly crashing into Lois. Lois managed to move swiftly out the way while Jax crashed into a pole. Lois laid on the ground motionless. Jax and Jerry got out of the car and rushed over towards her.
"Bloody h*ll........I hope you didn't kill this woman, Jax!"
"Just help me turn her over."
Jax and Jerry turned her body over, so she was facing them. Who they saw not only surprised them, but made them happy because it was a link to where Brenda was.
"Lois?"
(Her eyes fluttered open and she moaned.)
"Jax, is that you?"
(He smiled down at her.)
"Yes, its me, Lois........I'm so happy to see you. Are you ok?"
"Ya know Jasper Jacks......I love ya to death, but you have a habit of asking stupid questions at the wrong d@mn time."
(Both Jax and Jerry laughed.....Yes, this was certainly Lois!)
"Look, we have to get you to the hospital.....put your arms around my neck."
Lois latched her arms around his neck, and he scooped her up in his arms, while Jerry opened the car door.
"Jax, I'm really ok.......I just have a sore ankle."
"No, arguements, Lois."
"I agree that we have to get to the hospital, but not because of me."
"Then who?"
"Brenda."
