To send SMS via e-mail, here's what you need to do:
1. Key in recipient's 012 mobile number followed by @sms.maxis.net.my into the 'To' field, i.e. [email protected]
2. Type your message into the 'Message' field (not more than 160 characters).
3. Click 'Send'.

To send a message from your mobile phone to e-mail, here are the steps:
1. Key in 'e'.
2. Add a space and key in the recipient's e-mail address.
3. Add a space and key in your message.
4. Send it to 1503. 
5. The SMS will then be transferred to the e-mail address you've entered. Charges for SMS messages sent to an e-mail account are 15 sen per message.

NOTE:
1) You are not advised to send more than 5 SMS via Email within a one minute time period.
2) Each Maxis mobile customer can only receive 20 SMS via Email each day.
3) You can only send SMS via Email to 10 recipients at one time.
4) Maxis net is not obligated to ensure successful delivery.
