| This cd was released October 30,2001. This remake of the Marvin Gaye hit "What's Going On" was put together by Bono. The cd features 9 versions of the song and 31 "All-Stars". The song was originally remade for the Artists Against AIDS Worldwide - the main focus was AIDS in Africa. However, when the September 11th disaster occured, they decided to split proceeds down the middle - 1/2 for AAAW and 1/2 for the Sept. 11th Fund. The first video for the song featured snippets of the artists singing and footage from the disaster. Later, thinking that the main focus of stopping AIDS was lost, they remade the video. |
