GUARDIAN ANGELS LESSONS
Know all the possibilities of your impossible dream.
Leave space in your relationship so
Youll have lots of time to play.
Be yourself.
forgive, forget, and forge ahead.
Its easier to fly
when you take yourself lightly.
Reach out and touch someone
Lightly with your wings.
Love is the only four letter word you know.
Whenever you hear a bell,
Another angle has earned their wings.
Its ok to cry during sad movies.
Dont postpone joy to scrub the bathroom
Or clean the garage.
Love Mother Earth.
Whenever you feel afraid,
Get a new box of crayons.
Carry a spare set of wings in your pocket.
Wherever you go is where you will be.
Spread your wings and fly.

THE SUN IS BURNING GASES
I was young
When 17 was a number too high to count.
The sun was the miracle spinning sorcerer
That melted my crayons into bright wax rivers.
A golden-skinned prince lived there
Nightly in my mind.
When stars and moon
Were marginal connect-the-dots,
Different every time-
Beyond the realms of man.

Now Im 17,
And even infinity is a place I can define.
Man has touched the moon-
Now stretching to the stars.
I know the sun is burning gases,
My prince long since turned to ashes.

TRAVEL
The railroad track is miles away,
And the day is loud with voices speaking,
Yet there isnt a train goes by all day
But I hear its whistle shrieking.

All night there isnt a train goes by,
Though the night is still for sleep and dreaming,
But I see its cinders red on the sky,
   And hear its engine steaming.

My heart is warm with the friends I make,
   And better friends Ill not be knowing;
Yet there isnt a train I wouldnt take,
   No matter where its going.

THE LONG HILL
I must have passed the crest awhile ago
And now I am going down-
Strange to have crossed the crest and not to know,
But the brambles were always catching the hem of my gown.

All the morning I thought how proud I should be
To stand there straight as a queen,
Wrapped in the wind and the sun with the world under me-
But the air was dull, there was little I could have seen.

It was nearly level along the beaten track
And the brambles caught my gown-
But its no use now to think of turning back,
The rest of the way will be only going down.

FIRE AND ICE
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what Ive tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But f it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate,
To say that for destruction, ice
Is also great,
And would suffice.

LIFELESSON
The fierce wind rages
And I see how trees survive-
They have learned to bend.
