INTRODUCTION:

Hello, I am Muhammed Jawed. I am a student of M.Phil program at CBM (College of Business Management). I am doing my research work on the following topic. I will put all my research work online via this site. So please visit next time and you will updated.

E-COMMERCE & INTERNET BANKING:

This research will lead me towards achievement of my M.Phil Degree and will enable me to learn:

1. How to apply theoretical knowledge to real world business problems.

2. Significantly enhance my career prospects.

3. Working under the supervision of a leading expert in my area of research.

Following is the Research Outline:

E-COMMERCE

Success is a not about a big bang. Success is about the commutative effects of subtle and even small plays. Electronic commerce is only peripherally about creating a new transaction channel; the biggest benefits will come from marginally increasing efficiency, integrating vendor-end customer-side workflows with not-so-obvious connections, and aggregating and manipulating information to produce cunning enticements that are below the threshold of annoyance. Although the emphasis is now on grandiose marketing and uncertain technological plays, expect any long-term viability in ecommerce and internet-assisted banking to derive from an aggregation of small things that improve the character of doing business. While the integration of workflows generate individually small benefits, aggregated it changes the nature of business to provide slight encouragement in changing the character and culture of business. In effect, if you are responsible for ecommerce strategy or developing banking venues for the Internet, perhaps the best avenue for success is subtlety and small plays, not the truly big Internet marquees requiring enormous that demarcate the what we all assume defined Internet business success.

ELECTRONIC BANKING

Electronic technology has progressed rapidly over the last decade. Computers have become more sophisticated, telephones have become more functional, and the Internet has become a standard medium of information. With this advancement in technology, banking has become more convenient. Banks have taken the initiative to take advantages of these technologies in order to facilitate banking and to improve the quality of services.

The emerging new economy created by the Internet is generating enormous environmental benefits by reducing the amount of energy and materials consumed by businesses and increasing overall productivity.

INTERNET BANKING: WHAT IS IT?

Banks use a variety of names for online banking services, such as PC banking, Home banking, Electronic banking or Internet banking. Regardless of the name, these systems offer certain advantages over traditional banking methods.

Online systems allow customers to plug into a host of banking services from a personal computer by connecting with the bank's computers over telephone wires. The convenience can be compelling. Not only is travel time reduced, but ATM machines, telephone banking or banking by mail are often unnecessary.
And, technology continues to make online banking, once attempted only by computer enthusiasts, easier for the average consumer.

ONLINE BANKS:

A few banks are taking the lead in online banking, but soon it will be widespread. Some predicts that 16 million households (worldwide) will be banking online by 2001. Security, privacy and fraud prevention are the issues holding back widespread use, but should all be resolved in the next few years?

So what does online banking allow you to do? Most plans allow customers to perform all routine transactions, such as account transfers, balance inquiries, bill payments, and stop-payment requests... everything but withdrawing cash (at least for now). Many allow for file transfer between their program and popular accounting software packages. Most charge setup and monthly fees, but a few have waived all fees.

In the recent past, online banking consisted largely of banks partnering with Intuit, Microsoft, or another software company to provide the banking services within personal finance software. But the trend is away from this, and towards banks offering services directly from their web sites. This is better because it allows each bank to customize the user interface for their customers, even changing the appearance depending on each customer's unique situation.

The basics:

Growing numbers of consumers are experimenting with online banking, searching for convenience and value. Consider the following:

The followings are the basic questions in my mind which enable me to complete my research and a lot will be coming according to situations:
