Lets Make the Duality Green with Envy: or why I Dumped the Two Party System and Registered GREEN!

After being a registered Democrat since I was 18 I have now registered with the Green Party. This has been long in coming. I voted for Ralph Nader in the last presidential election. I also voted for Grandpa Munster for Governor of New York. Both were the Green Partys candidates in these past elections. This year Ralph Nader is again running for President. I will vote for him again, but thats not all. This year I intend to do every thing I can to get him elected! Why am I doing this?

As Ralph said in the opening of his speech at the Green Partys national convention in Denver, Colorado, on June 25, 2000:

"On behalf of all Americans who seek a new direction, who yearn for a new birth of freedom to build the just society, who see justice as the great work of human beings on Earth, who understand that community and human fulfillment are mutually reinforcing, who respect the urgent necessity to wage peace, to protect the environment, to end poverty and to preserve values of the spirit for future generations, who wish to build a deep democracy by working hard for a regenerative progressive politics, as if people mattered - to all these citizens and the Green vanguard, I welcome and am honored to accept the Green Party nomination for President of the United States."

As I listened to Ralphs speech, I realized he was speaking to me. I have been waiting for years to hear someone in politics speak to me. He has called me and here I come! My commitment to the Green Party goes much further then the next election. I intend to, with your help, yes you, build a local Green Group and work to make the Green Party an active part of the city I live in, Utica, New York. If you live in Utica and you youre ready to get involved, e-mail me at [email protected]. I am presently the contact person for the Green Party in Utica.

As Ralph called to me I now call to you. If you, like me, are tired of living under an oligarchy, that by its very nature benefits the few at the cost to the many. If you are sick of the corporate interests fouling our air and water in the name of profit; if youve had enough of the republicrat and dempublican political duality paying lip service to issues such as healthcare, sexual politics, education, poverty, the environment, peace, and justice in the workplace only to revert to corporate business as usual after the election. JOIN US! This is grassroots politics in action. To act internationally we must first act locally. Alone, each of our voices are but a whisper, together our whispers become a shout. We can be heard. We can make a difference. Join us and together we will make a difference by being heard!

Please help in any way you can. We need each other!

Read, think, speak, write, BE!
