BRITNEY HOLDS ONCE AGAIN... Britney Spears continues to dominate the charts with "(You Drive Me) Crazy", her third no. 1 single from her multi-platinum debut album. Britney has been on top of the charts for an amazing 12 weeks this year, that's three months out of ten so far in 1999, with three singles. Other than her, TLC also has 12 weeks at no. 1 this year, but the group manages to do this with only two singles so far.

WILL THIS BE IT 4 HER?... Jennifer Lopez managed a no. 3 peak position with her debut single "If You Had My Love", and so far, the follow-up to that single, "Waiting For Tonight", has performed quite better holding at no. 2 this week threatening to take over the top spot from Britney Spears. Jennifer might be able to hit no. 1 this time but she faces strong competition from the Backstreet Boys and Savage Garden. "I Knew I Loved You" is already at no. 6 after only three weeks and should be heading to no. 1 pretty soon at this pace, while "Larger Than Life" moves up a spot into the top 3. In the past, Savage Garden has hit the top two times, both in 1997, with "I Want You" and "To The Moon & Back", while the Backstreet Boys only once this year with "I Want It That Way".
