A LITTLE BIT OF BRITNEY OUTTA HERE... Lou Bega's "Mambo No. 5" is this week's new no. 1 single. It surprised both Britney Spears and Mariah Carey and makes a three spot leap to the top of the chart. This is only the second single from a solo male artist to reach no. 1 since 1997, Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca" is the other.
GREATEST GAINERS... Destiny's Child take top honors this week with "Bug-A-Boo". This second single from their album, "The Writing's On The Wall", was the reason I got the album. It should be a bigger hit than "Bills, Bills, Bills" in my opinion; I'm pretty positive about "Bug-A-Boo" surpassing its no. 7 peak position in the weeks to come. Jennifer Lopez is this week's second greatest gainer with "Waiting For Tonight", it barely missed the top 10. Finally, Whitney Houston makes a big jump into the top 5 this week with "My Love Is Your Love", thanks in part to the awesome dance mixes on the maxi single.
