Chart Commentary

Back on top... Well, apparently *N Sync's run at the top was short lived thanks to Kylie Minogue. "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" returns for a third time and a fifth week to the #1 position. No other song has ever jumped back to #1 two times after its initial run on top, so Kylie now holds that distinction. Expect a follow-up single pretty soon (probably "In Your Eyes", the second European single from "Fever").

Oh My... There's a newcommer in town and her name is Tweet. She hits the top 10 for the very first time with her sexy debut single "Oops (Oh My)", which features Missy Elliott. The track jumps from #13 to #8 and is the week's greatest gainer. Other big gainers include No Doubt's "Hella Good" and Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" featuring Ashanti.

Will this be it?... Britney Spears is back on the chart with the third single from "Britney". "Overprotected" debuts at #33 and I can't help but wonder if this will be the single that finally brings her back to the airwaves in a big way. First single "I'm A Slave 4 U" received OK airplay, but then "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" flopped big time. She really hasn't had a big airplay hit since "Oops!... I Did It Again", so hopefully radio will be kinder to her this time since "Overprotected" is probably the best track on the album. Other debuts include P. Diddy's "I Need A Girl" featuring Usher & Loon at #39, and Nickelback's "Too Bad" at #40.

Coming up... Brandy- "Full Moon", Paulina Rubio- "Don't Say Goodbye", Garbage- "Breaking Up The Girl", Jennifer Lopez f/ Nas- "I'm Gonna Be Alright", Boyz II Men- "The Color Of Love" & Naughty By Nature f/ 3LW- "Feels Good".
