Morning sun For it slanted from the east Illuminating A single leaf alone On the branch of a sapling The verdant green stark contrast Dew collected Near the stem Refracts the light And sparkles Its volume increasing As the sunlight warms it Expanding until surface Tension breaks And it rolls along the center vein To hover a moment at the tip A long, sweet moment Before It plunges to the dust To feed again the tree |
