An Overview of My Spirituality

This page is to try to explain how I see things from a spiritual standpoint. Just as I found for myself, it could mean nothing, or seem like ludicrous nonsense to you, (and that's fine, but if so I don't care to hear about it), or it might be something you cannot un-see. There are certain mental doors that, once opened, can never again be closed. I will NOT be responsible, and don't expect me to be helpful (at least as far as you can tell now), should that prove to be the case with you.

If you are a minor, this is something that, while not sexual or violent, I strongly recommend you check with your parent or guardian BEFORE reading, or better still don't bother with my opinion, but instead live your own growth experiences, and check around with open eyes and mind. Later, once you've determined enough of it on your own, look up my take on it for a chuckle and another perspective.

I'm not saying that religion is a placebo, but it is an apt analogy for such in-depth examination in general, seriously,

once a placebo is exposed,
IT NEVER WORKS AGAIN!!!
Proceed at your own risk.

That may seem egotistical, but better safe than sorry, especially where such dear subjects are concerned. Faith can be both very powerful and very fragile.

First and foremost, I am not any kind of authority, have no desire to be such, and I know nothing more than you do. Everyone should read and research for themselves, then toss out everything learned from books, philosophers, priests, popes, know-it-alls and scholars and go with gut instinct.

A note on the word "God", and the capitalizations herein: I do not pretend to know what "higher powers" (meaning, simply put, something more powerful and bigger than the self) there are, or who/what they actually are. That is just an easy, much shorter way of saying "higher/greater power(s)/Entity(ies)/energy(ies)" Capitalization is a required form of respect, if not to the entities referenced, then to the millions of worshipers who insist that that is just proper grammar.

Benjamin Franklin had the best quote to sum up my philosophy, and the way I live my every moment, "Moderation in all things, including moderation itself." This is important to keep in mind whenever considering anything I have said or written; just the fact that I disagree with or even denounce something does NOT mean that I am in direct opposition.

I have a fairly holistic (or wholistic) way of looking at things, a firm belief in micro and macrocosms. I see patterns repeat, from sub atomic particles to solar systems and galaxies, from neighborhoods in towns to states, countries and continents. I see social interactions between individuals and between nations, and the similarities inherent. The extents to which these things repeat lead me to the thought that perhaps the pattern is similar on other, deeper levels. The way I see it, we are all as close to God as the next person, as Jesus, Buddha, Moses, Mohamed, etc. We are all parts of the greater whole, sparks in a sun, as quarks are to molecules, and even Gods themselves are pieces of a larger whole, and for all I can tell, it keeps going infinitely. From quark to atom to molecule to toenail to body to planet to solar system, to galaxy... and for all we can tell at this stage, the galaxy is another quark in a macroverse, where our entire vast universe is just another molecule. It may be expanding and contracting due to relative temperature, say we're in a drop of water, or worst (for that) an ice cube in a cup of hot tea. With the difference of scales, it could take billions of years of our time to progress less than a second in the ice cube's time. Likewise, a single degree of temperature change to that ice cube (or drop of water) could cause our stellar dance to shift stars light years further or closer.

I think that the purpose to it all, the meaning of life is what seems inconsequential to us in most things: the experience, the feelings, thoughts, responses and interactions. We are here to live lives that the Gods themselves could or would not. But, alas, it has become common practice to deny ourselves the experiences of our every moment in favor of focusing on the tangible results we will later reap. It strikes me as concentrating one's attention so intently on the finish line that one doesn't even notice the race, let alone the numerous nuances of each single step.

I think that there probably are intelligent alien life forms out there somewhere, and they probably have similar spiritual bonds with their Gods, and consensus realities of their own. It is even likely in my wholistic view that their Gods and ours also form a collective that makes up another tier on an infinite pyramid of power. This is not saying that UFOs are alien, nor that we have been visited/influenced by them, however, just because supraluminal (faster-than-light) travel is beyond our current technology is no proof that it is not in use elsewhere. In other words, regardless of belief it is possible, but I do not have sufficient data to make that call. I don't think I would want it, either.

Just to end another long standing, strikingly stupid argument: UFOs are positively, without a shadow of doubt, absolutely, 100% perfectly unquestionably real. Think about it, just accepting that they are Unidentified Flying Objects does NOT mean accepting that they are alien/extraterrestrial in origin. Quite to the contrary, it is simply saying "Somebody saw something and couldn't figure out what it was."

I do not think that Gods (even the collective Gods' Gods) are infallible or omnipotent, but on our scale they would seem that way to us, just as our parents seemed when we were babies. Just as they learn and grow with us, the universe learns and grows with them... and somewhere, it probably goes on.

Consensus reality is subjective, and I believe that belief creates power. The psyche can affect more than itself or its own body... Therefore, if there weren't originally various Heavens, Hells, a Pantheon of Gods and Demons, angels, saints, ghosts, Loa, Legion, etc., there almost certainly are now. Isn't that a comforting thought?
