Some Websites I've Found Useful
(I removed the right click disable for this page.)
Of the following, I checked out TheHungerSite most intensely, enough to be willing to vouch for them all. To summerize, the brilliant Idea is that they sell ad space by the click to advertisers who know that those viewing the ads know that all of those advertising dollars go to a cause they theoretically believe in. Then they give 100% of the revenues to the charities listed. "How can they," you ask? They're hooked up with a separate underwriter to cover operating expenses, even. Smart... and simple to support.
You click NOW!
Seriously, though, it's easy & no cost or risk, and you can do each once per day per IP address.
Save The World - One Click At A Time!
On each of these websites, you can click a button to support the cause -- each click creates funding, and costs you nothing! Bookmark these sites, and click once a day!

Chat Sites
Yahoo! Of course, we use it for pretty much everything, from Geocities, which hosts this site, to their search engine, Yahoo Groups, and the indispensable mind-to-mind connection that is Yahoo Instant Messenger. I like and use my Yahoo e-mail most, too. Gotta give credit to what I consider the ultimate freebie package.
Gaia
Keep it PG-13 or less there, please, it is a great site for kids and we'd like to keep it that way.
My kids and I enjoy the site thoroughly, there are some games, forums, and an interesting e-conomy...
The most interesting thing about the site is the virtual world they've created. You start off by making an avatar for yourself, choosing skin tone, hair, eyes, et cetera. You get a starting allotment of gold, clothing (a small wardrobe now, it used to just give you the clothes on your back & the 500 gold it still gives), furniture... Then you can choose the style of your av's house, although it hasn't got an "address" yet, or you can put that off.
You get gold for just about everything you can do there, even just surfing forums. (I make a killing at Blackjack and the Marketplace.) There are a ton of items and almost infinite combinations to personalize your av & "house".
Please use the links here to make a free account there, I get Gaia gold and possibly special items for referrals. The only pay part of the site is the option to buy special Monthly Collectibles, but you don't have to, can work yourself up to buying anything in Gaia gold.
www.Freecycle.org
The site has a page for finding the local group closest to you, anywhere in the united States. If there isn't one, you can make & own it, it's not hard & costs nothing but time.
The primary purpose is keeping reusable items out of landfills... give & get stuff ranging from coupons to vehicles. Everything has to be free, legal & appropriate for all ages. No commerce, involvement of money, spam, trading/seeking/offering people, "free with signup" crap, religious persecution or bitter, aged ex-hippies saying we might as well just sit around smoking our pipe dreams and singing "Kumbaya".
It works, millions of members nationwide & literally tons of stuff kept out of landfills yearly in my area alone. Stick that in your SUV & drive on it, sell-outs. And you called US the hopelessly lost "Generation X"...
I think that's probably a good start...
