The literature available on puppy socialization in 1974 indicated that active intervention didn't become necessary until the third week, after the eyes were open and the pups were beginning to toddle. In 1976 we read an article in a newsletter that was to change forever the way our puppies were handled during the all-important first eight weeks. The article, together with further research, would result in a unique method of puppy rearing.

incorporates a revolutionary regime of handling and stimulation during the first two and a half weeks combined with continuing constant human interaction and training based solely on positive reinforcement. This results in a confident, loving and outgoing family companion, well suited to becoming a successful show dog and/or a contributing member of your household. Born here and raised as family pets whose mothers were also raised the same innovative way, all of our puppies go home, at the appropriate time, house-trained, having been taught to understand simple commands ("no", "wait", etc.) and to spend some time alone in a crate. Aversion training avoids the problem of inappropriate chewing. All of this combines to allow you to take your puppy home (with his/her "going home bag" containing many useful items for a smooth beginning) and just enjoy!
