Modern Seagrave Fire Engines

In 1999, Enjine! Enjine! book-reviewer Tom Scott pointed out that my dad's 1997 book, Crown Firecoach History by Ed Hass, is filled with photos from the 1994 International Fire Buffs Association (IFBA) convention, so that event must have been a paradise for Crown buffs. That convention was also a paradise for Seagrave fans like me, because Los Angeles City and County were both replacing aging fleets of Crowns with new Seagrave apparatus. A case in point: Truck 3 of Los Angeles County, CA, a 100-foot aerial, with a Seagrave factory date of August 11, 1989, and serial number X76254. (Ed Hass photo).
