Modern Seagrave Fire Engines

Page 12: Cincinati, OH, 1988

Cincinnati Engine 29, a 1500-GPM pumper, is shown at the Fire Department Repair Shop, on Central Expressway in Cincinnati, OH, on the very day that Seagrave delivered it, in August, 1988. New Cincinnati fire apparatus has been delivered and photographed at this location since the 1930s. Note the front suction inlet, four-door cab, generous number of compartments on the left side, and almost total absence of firefighting equipment (except for the wood ladder on the right). (Ed Hass photos).

Twin to Engine 29, and delivered at the same time, is Engine 32 of Cincinnati, OH, photographed at the Central Expressway repair shops the very day that Seagrave delivered it to Cincinnati, in August, 1988. Note the red Mars "wig-wag" light built into the cab front, and the hard suction hoses piled on the hosebed, ready for mounting. Cincinnati Fire Dept. had not yet placed shop ID numbers on Engines 29 and 32 in these photos. (Ed Hass photos).
