Tommy Stories:June 24th 2001 Before I tell this story I need to explain that both of my sons have incredible sad faces. Kyle started it first, turning his mouth into an upside down U just before he started to cry when he was about 3 months old. One day Tommy saw the reaction this face caused in his parents, "Oh how adorable" "Ahhhh... ooooooooh..." and he decided that he needed a sad face of his own. Okay now on to the story... I was making a sad pouty face while sitting on the couch and Tommy walks up to me and says "Thats MY sad face!" It was so cute! This is definitely the first thing that Tommy has learned from his little brother.Tommy and Kyle share a room now and Tommy gets very upset any time we take Kyle out of the room, even if Kyle is screaming at the top of his lungs. Tommy says "Kyle back, Kyle back!" June 2001 I was making Tommy a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and we were singing the Peanut Butter & Jelly song, I was using a large wooden spoon for a microphone and I put the "microphone" in front of Tommy's mouth so he could sing the "jelly" part and instead of singing he said to me "Mommy, you're a silly boy!" July 29th 2001 Tommy and I were shopping at the mall and he made this kind of moaning sound and I wasn't sure what it was so I asked him, "Are you singing or whining?" and he thought about it for a moment and replied, "I'm whining" - don't you love the honesty of little ones? November 9th 2001 We were driving past a garage sale and I missed it so I said "Damn!" and Tommy says "No, Mommy! Say FOOEY!" Im so glad that he is listening to what I teach him, now if only I could learn to follow my own advice! December 15th 2001 We were decorating a gingerbread house with Tommy and Kyle and we gave Tommy a gingerbread man and put some frosting on him so that Tommy could add candy for the various parts. Tommy narrated as he added the candy "And there's the eye, and the mouth," he picked up a chocolate chip and added it to the gingberbread man and said "there's the poop" December 17th 2001 Tommy loves Christmas Carols and he sings Jingle Bells fairly well. The only word he doesnt really pronounce correctly is "horse", it sounds a lot more like "Ho".
Kyle Stories:June 27th 2001 Kyle was having trouble falling asleep and so Daddy let him lay in the bed next to him. Kyle decided he needed to cuddle Daddy so he grabbed a handful of Daddy's underarm hair and used it to pull himself next to his Daddy. Daddy being the sound sleeper he is didnt even wake up! Thats my baby, always being resourceful!June 18th 2001 After Uncle Jeremiah's graduation ceremony at Safeco Field in Seattle, Amy was moving through the crowds with Kyle in his arms and all of a sudden this blonde girl shreiks because she is being pulled. Kyle had grabbed her honor cords (yellow ropes around her neck) and had such a tight grip on them she was nearly pulled off her feet! She quickly forgave Kyle and Amy learned not to let Kyle's dangerous little grippers fly free. July 2001 I was scrapbooking on the floor of the living room and Kyle was scooting about. He scooted up to me and before I knew it he had taken the $17 in assorted bills out of my pocket and was scooting away with it! My little pickpocket! October 2001 While I was making dinner and Andy had just gotten home, we heard Kyle fussing and couldnt figure out where he was. When we found him, he had crawled underneath one of the dining room chairs and was stuck stradling the leg supports, he is SO busy all the time! December 17 2001 Kyle and I just had our first little argument! I told him it was time to go "nigh nigh" and he said "No!" and I said "Yes" (in disbelief) and he said "No!" and I said "Yes!" and he said "No!" one more time. I cannot believe it! He is barely 1 year old!! I think he learned this one from his older brother. |
